Cancer does not discriminate nor do we move on from the grief of those we have lost..we can only move forward with it. My family has lost a lot of people from our family tree because of cancer. The pictures you see are of my mother's younger sister Rosario, who was my first inspiration into the world of fashion. I started my very first blog when I was younger because of her before blogging blew up. I made my own E-Newsletters, was one of the first members of StyleCaster, and was a part of the Independent Fashion Bloggers before it even became a thing. In lots of ways I owe my auntie for inspiring my creative soul. Join me this coming Saturday to celebrate those who have survived and to honor those who we have lost through the battle.
Special thanks to GenerationHer board member laandbeyondwithmom for coordinating
Last year I was in the hospital getting chemo while my friends and family went to the Light the Night walk and this year I got to enjoy it with them as a SURVIVOR! Thank you all so much for coming out last night and supporting me, it really means the world. Love you all.
A few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel if I had to do another round of treatment. But as I head into the next round tomorrow, I am feeling so loved 💕
We received almost enough for one more full week of treatment via Venmo 🙏
We are that much closer to our GoFundMe goal after much generosity on Friday😭
Our Meal Train is almost fully covered👭
Someone hooked us up with a family Christmas photo package this weekend (thanks suzybush)🎄 ⠀

I am extremely proud to announce that I've been working on a secret project that was just finalized today! In my work with clients, I've found that so many people struggle with staying positive and looking on the bright side, which causes them to doubt themselves and favor excuses over problem-solving. So, I created this little tool to help people focus on gratitude and positivity over the course of 30 days to help shift their mindset.
For the remainder of November, all proceeds from the sale of the journal will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Please consider purchasing one for yourself or as a gift for someone you love...or both!
I'll be sharing more over the coming days, but I was so excited about this being published and available that I had to share right away!

Double lung transplant for teen vaping. Believed to be the first. Prayers for this teen! I wish cigarettes and E cigs were banned. Both are equally as bad, just one kills sooner than the other. 😞
Re post: Lung CT scan this week, with contrast. Left lung removed January 2018 due to lung cancer. Lungs look clear, and 4mm nodule on right side disappeared on its own. Three more yrs of CT scans to go. Feeling optimistic, blessed, & thankful.
I am smoke free today, but by no means is giving up smoking easy!
My first big event that I managed at the American Cancer Society was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers that helped me last night we could not have done it without you! And a HUGE thank you to the Event Chairs Betsy Goldstein and David Goldstein and committee member Heather Larkin for being such WONDERFUL people and making this event FABULOUS! And last but certainly not least to my AMAZING supervisor Christine Duffy Mills for teaching me everything I know and mentoring me through this process! ❤️❤️❤️ ACSamericancancersocietygalabestjobevermypurpose
Thank you American Cancer Society for selecting me as one of your honorees of the year. It was a honor to participate in The Nashville Best Dressed Ball. ✨
I truly did not understand God’s purpose at the age of 20 being diagnosed with such a rare disease and forced to drop out of The University of Tennessee. However, God showed me that there was a BIGGER and BETTER plan for me. It is a honor to be a nurse on the same floor I was a patient on.
I thank everyone at Vanderbilt University Medical Center who took part in my care along the years—from EVS up to the Chief of VICC. I thank my family for putting a hold on their lives to help me get through those 2 years of treatment to still supporting the “life after cancer” trials and tribulations. Thank you to my wonderful friends and 10T3 family for surrounding me with love and the continued support on a daily basis. Thank you to the patients, who remind me on a daily basis of the courage and strength it takes to fight cancer. They are the true heroes in this world—not me. I truly hope one day cancer is no longer a disease.
Tonight I got to wear an evening gown for the first time since high school. Thank you caitplage & fourthcrown for the invite, thank you leahgloverhayes for being my size & letting me borrow a dress to feel like a princess for the night....thank you leahdt21 for watching our crazy kiddos so we could be fancy for a bit, and thank you trentschmidt for being my handsome date.❤️
I included a few of the pictures our kids took before we left...because it suddenly hit me that we now have kids old enough to take pictures of their parents that are about to head out for the night.😮🤯 .
