FOOD COMPARISON — i used to be really embarrassed by how much i ate. like MAN I EAT ALOT. and sometimes i still am. i would eat a normal dinner, then crave snacks not even an hour later. i used to think i was just binge eating and would be so hard on myself. i would try to snack in private so no one could see how much i was actually eating and bc i was embarrassed and ashamed. i always compared what i was eating to what/how much my friends were and it never ended well.⁣ —⁣ im not saying im perfect about this now, but what i AM saying is that there’s no reason for you to compare what you eat to what anyone else eats. your bodys are different. different heights, weights, muscle, activity level, etc. your friend may sit a desk job all day, and you might be running errands all day ON TOP OF training for a marathon. of course youre gonna eat more!! and not even that, but you may THINK you see everything your friends eat.. but you really dont. so save yourself some stress and just focus on YOU and YOUR BODY. and i promise you will be 10x happier. make it a goal this week to listen to YOUR body’s needs🖤

Ever since Dr. Oz told viewers in 2012 that raspberry ketones were “the number one miracle in a bottle to burn your fat”, they’ve become quite popular in the supplement industry . . Confession: I’m almost 28 years old and I am just learning that in order to do nothing about your body, you don’t have to restrict, count, or modify your diet. Shocker. Sometimes baking with new ingredients can be intimidating. First it’s almond flour, then coconut oil and then it’s a.. flax egg? Wut. if you’re new to using ingredients like almond flour, I adapted this recipe to only be 5 ingredients. Sometimes it makes experimenting just a little bit easier 🍪 - •1 1/2 c. almond flour •1/3 c. coconut sugar •1/3 c. softened butter •1 large egg •~1/3 cup mini choc chips (little more of you want to dip each cookie) - *preheat oven to 350F. Mix sugar, butter, and egg until well combined. Add in almond flour and chocolate chips. Form into cookie shapes (chill if needed to mold) and place on slightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden. Let cool and enjoy💛

I am not posting this for the physical transformation. Nope not at all. Yes. I did lose weight but I GAINED so much more. CONFIDENCE. FOOD FREEDOM. ♡ Let's talk my plans ♡ What's my plans after the maintenance week? I'm going go start incorporating calorie cycling having 5 lower days (my work days) because that's when I'm more distracted and 2 higher days (weekend) My overall weekly calories will still be the same (as if I was just eating the same amount everyday) they're just going to be distributed a little differently and in a way that suits me a bit better. The scale has actually been going up the past couple of weeks - even before this maintenance week, so I'm sitting higher than I was in week 4 😂 ♡ Does that mean I'm decreasing calories further? Nope! ♡ Am I stressing out or beating myself up about it? Nope! Over these past few weeks with my weight going up is I've noticed changes in my physique in the direction I want to be heading in. Cooked up a version of the wholekitchensink Big Mac salad for lunch. (You can find it easily if you google that exact thing.) Marathon drinking on bourbon street 😅 2am delivery pizza while watching stand up on Netflix. Snugglin’ pups every night falling asleep on the couch. 12pm breakfasts and eating until I couldn’t. Roasted salmon eggs benny, beignets, shrimp po boys fo dayzzzz, gumbo and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Art markets and exploring thrift stores. Sculpture art parks and mini golf. Brewery tours and giant jenga. Drinks in giant manshions, carousel bars 🎠 and bars with wooden toilets for seats 😂 Too many whiskey gingers to count. Belly and heart full. Really really full ✌🏽✨

This idea of eating lunch at your desk in order to not take a break and stay on top of things does nothing to help your health and can even prevent you from completing the work well. Your mental health is improved with scheduled breaks in your work day and eating lunch away from your to do list is just as important as eating without having the television on. ⠀ ⠀ 👟 Many people think their fitness is top notch due to the one hour session they were able to get in before going to work and sitting at a desk for 8, 10, maybe even 14 hours at a time. Regular, casual movement throughout the day, whether it’s taking a lap around the office or the building can provide a significant benefit to your cardiovascular health. Small moments throughout the day add up quickly. I recommend the around the building option on nice days to reconnect with nature throughout your day. ⠀ ⠀ 🍽 And don’t forget that your eating environment matters too. Going above and beyond the normal health recommendation to eat away from your desk... I challenge you to pick the most conducive environment for enjoying your meal. That 5-10 pounds you’ve been agonizing over? That you’re so convinced need to go or are desperately trying to keep off? Maybe it’s worth considering how that affects your quality of life. What do you think you’ll gain from weighing less? Where is the desire to be smaller coming from? Will life really be better that way? Do the actions required to lose/keep off that weight align with your values? What happens when you gain the weight back (statistically even more)? What are you sacrificing for the sake of being smaller? Is that the life you’re willing to live? (Maybe it is, but maybe it isn’t, too!) I’m not here to shame you or make you feel bad for wanting to lose weight- just to offer an alternative. We can pursue health and overall wellness without sacrificing our values, happiness or spontaneity. Focusing on weight is almost guaranteed to backfire, and causes us to lose out on life’s most precious moments, or feel guilty for our innocuous choices. You don’t need to miss out on 95% of your life just to weigh 5% less 💗💗💗

I was running late this morning, so I just had a coffee for breakfast made with 10 ounces of cold brew coffee + 10 ounces of light vanilla almond milk + some cinnamon. For lunch I had Grilled chicken with feta cheese, broccoli, and roasted red potatoes! Had half for lunch, and took the other half home to have for dinner. Great balance of carbs, lean protein, veggies, and healthy fats! Also had two glasses of lemon water, and snacked on some grapes later. We have personal responsibility...we have to do the work...AND we cannot ignore the experiences and interactions that shaped our belief system and how we feel about ourselves. . I am not a fan of motivational blanket statements. Almost always, there’s a “if you’re not where you want to be, that’s on YOU” tone. . Sure, it’s our job to like or be neutral about ourselves, while incorporating the context. What if we were bullied as children for our weight/size/abilities/intelligence? What if our caretakers rather than providing help added to the internalized feelings of worthlessness? What if as teens/young adults social standards of beauty played a role in the process of body dissatisfaction? What if as adults we still get comments and recommendations from strangers regarding the way we look? . Yeah, we have to do the work to heal-I get it-but we also have to go to the root of it all...because we didn’t just wake up one day lacking self esteem, it was a learning and experiential process. . Questions to ask ourselves: 1. Where did I learn that I wasn’t enough? 2. When did I realize my opinion wasn’t valuable? 3. What was my first memory of shame? 4. How has the external world interacted with me? With kindness or insensitivity?

Hi guys!! I wanted to reintroduce myself on here since it’s been a while. . I’m Leah ☻ I’m from Annapolis, Maryland, but currently finishing up undergrad at the University of Colorado @ Boulder studying Psychology w a minor in Business. If I felt full but was offered more, I said no. It meant a whole lot of yes’s too - like, saying yes to spontaneous ice cream runs with friends. I realized I didn’t have to listen to anyone who shamed me for choosing to live the way I do. Feeling deprived, labeling myself, tracking every calorie to a T - is no longer what I live for. I’d rather have a healthy mind and learn to appreciate my curves than spend my life trying to manipulate them and forgetting to LIVE my damn life. . And THAT is why I made this account. I promote eating. Fueling your bod w the good stuff, not labeling foods as “good” or “bad” but learning how each individual food makes you FEEL. Regular exercise, enjoying the struggle of lifting weights 🏋🏻‍♀️ but also regular BREAKS - something you don’t see a whole lot of on Instagram. It’s finally soup weather! Whipped up another version of a pumpkin curry chickpea carrot coconut (that’s a lot of C’s!) soup I’ve made before, this time also with zucchini. Super easy and delicious. Sautéed a chopped onion in olive oil with (5?) carrots (cut in small chunks) and spices (turmeric, cumin, paprika, salt) then added sliced zucchini, then a big carton of chicken stock, two cans of chickpeas, 1 can reduced fat coconut milk (full fat also great!) and 1 can pumpkin purée, brought to a boil then simmered and covered until carrots soft, then used immersion blender until fully puréed and adjusted seasoning. Didn’t measure anything just threw stuff in and came out great! Served with dollop of full fat yogurt and freshly ground pepper. Have dinners for the week and froze a ton of leftovers for when the baby comes too!

When you need to do something that takes up your time and energy but it’s a task you REALLY don’t want to do then it helps if you hold yourself accountable to someone else. My time invested into tasks to prepare for my LFS90 program launching on 23rd sept at Fighting Fit wasn’t easily assigned. I have so many other things I would rather be doing but I know it’s going to increase client success rate. I would rather get on the phone and use the time coaching members. I know thou if I invest enough time into the new on boarding process then that process will stop the problems which occurred last time. It’s not a major issue but one that needs fixing, I could leave it and it will be ok, just not as smooth as I would like. When I see something that I can streamline or improve I allocate time to it. Kaizen is really important to my business mission. I hold myself accountable to Alfie. This little man in the picture. You see his future can be changed and so can mine, if I increase the LFS90 member success rate, not only will I have more impact helping more women live a balance healthy lifestyle whilst dropping a dress size in 60 days but with those successful transformations willl help grow LFS90. Meaning a better future for my little man. So when it comes to a task, even the painful admin tasks that take hours but have to be done and can’t be delegated, I think of how much of an impact it will have in the future. 💥 10 Minute Peanut Butter Curry 💥 - One-pot, gluten free & vegan, simple ingredients and ram packed full of flavour! Trust me this will become your new go to dinner after a long day! 🙌 ◾️ 👉 INGREDIENTS: 2 tbsp oil 2 large garlic cloves crushed 1 red onion roughly diced 1 tsp paprika ½ tsp ground coriander ½ tsp cayenne pepper pinch chilli flakes 400g can of coconut milk 4 tbsp peanut butter 2 tbsp tomato puree 2 400g tins of chickpeas drained 1 tsp veg stock (or 1 cube) 1 juice lime handful spinach (optional) ◾️ 👉 DIRECTIONS: Prepare the red onion by roughly dicing. Heat a large pot with oil, 2 crushed garlic cloves and red onion for a minute until softened. Add the 1 tsp paprika, ½ tsp cayenne pepper, ½ tsp ground coriander, pinch chilli flakes and mix. Now add the coconut milk, 4 tbsp peanut butter, 2 tbsp tomato puree, 2 cans drained chickpeas, veg stock. powder and juice of 1 lime and stir. Cook on a high heat for 5-6 minutes until it starts to thicken. That feel when your breakfast smiles back at you 🥰 . It’s been a rough couple of days body dysmorphia wise and lots of digestive issues but I’ve been pushing through... I have a therapy session today in an hour and my therapist will determine if we should begin EMDR... and it might start today 😬. So I got lots of feelings going on at the moment... I have off from work today though which is a good thing (self care 101 !! ). . I’ve also really been challenging myself with variety and food exposures... (maybe a little TOO quickly), but the fact that I’m still alive with a pulse means that the food doesn’t have power over me!! (So fuck yeah!!) .
