Late night snacks yesterday. Spicy potato salad, feta with fresh basil, red onions, pickled olives and cherry tomatoes and sautéed mushrooms, succuk Turkish sausage and red onions cooked in the succuk fat.
Yesterday's dinner, a @gordongram recipe on YouTube (swipe) replacements used : @alpro cream and fresh basil as couldn't find fresh tarragon anywhere local! Lovely dish with amazing flavours 😍🌱🍄 (had it without the bread in the pic, no it's not meat!)
A simple cosmos this morning, this one is from cosmos bipinnatus antiquity. Grown from seed in late spring, punched out to stop the flopping (lesson learnt from last year) and now flowering prolifically and should carry on until October. A pretty easy flower, just keep deadheading. My kind of plant, especially for a Sunday. After a brief visit to the greenhouse yesterday it finally dawned on me to start planning what to do with my basil glut. There’s pesto and basil oil which I’ll give a go but I want to see if basil ice cream or sorbet is a possibility. Before I spend some happy research time though I need to get out and deadhead after the recent rain. I’m looking forward to a gossip with old friends later too. A true Sunday!
