REAL TALK. I am proud of my weight loss. There I said it. It’s OK to be proud of losing weight and bettering your health. It’s ok to take charge and make a change in your life for the better. I was NOT healthy. And let me repeat that. I WAS NOT HEALTHY! So, yes, I agree, I was beautiful before. I always thought so myself also. But, I was over weight and my weight was hurting my insides. It was. It was hurting my heart, my joints and my gut. . Now, that being said, every situation is different and you have to be happy in your own skin. I love the saying “You don’t just love your child when their well behaved and perfect, you love them through the tantrums and the outbursts.” The same goes for our bodies. You can’t possibly have success when you only love yourself at your perfect shape. Whatever that is. . Learning to love myself has been a gradual process. Learning to love who I am in the highs and in the lows. Learning to know, deep down that I am worthy even with a saggy tummy, thin hair and tired eyes. Also knowing that if I wanted to change any of those things about myself, that doesn’t mean I love myself any less. Something that bothers me about the “self acceptance” movement is that it seems to belittle a portion of people who choose a certain path. You can have whatever body you want, and NO BODY has the right to tell you any different. . Feels so damn good to be able to hit 160kg for reps! Second set for 5 reps. Been prioritising sleep and recovery along with a stable diet that is increasing at a steady rate 🍗 Havnt been able to lift 160kg off the ground for a few months now. Feels amazing to hit a short term goal in only 3 weeks. Onto the road of 200kg! 👌🔥

I wanted to start this post off by giving a huge thank u to j_oly15 for being my coach/mentor in this sport. This guy has taught me so much and has built not only my strength but confidence in my self as a lifter which translates over to everyday life. Thank you for everything u have done & welcoming me into your home at 10pm to help me cut 3-4lbs the day before weigh ins. - - - This was my first meet in the 181lbs & competing without knee wraps. I have a few personal goals I want to hit before I get back into knee wraps. This meet was my second sanctioned meet & I am proud of myself but not even close to being satisfied. I’ll show my numbers below but I did bomb out due to technique issues on bench. I’ve never had this called on me and I can point fingers at judges and etc but I’m not going to do that. I’m going to perfect my craft and fix it and never get called for downward motion on bench again it’s simple. I’m back to training as if nothing has happen. This is a learning experience. I’ve had sins infection & bronchitis 90% of this prep but I still got my ass up and went to the gym. I am taking a couple different approaches to this sport next time around to get better and do better. I wasn’t that good last time in the 165lbs I wasn’t that good this time around in the 185lbs but better. Second video is incorrect form and as you can see there's no isolation of the glute, the upper body takes over majority of the movement. Just be aware of how you are performing your exercises and take note if you can feel it in the muscle you are supposed to be training. If not, ask for help.

Q. Why did I chose to get fit and healthy? A. That little girl right there. My princess. My rock. My saviour. I was never one who had to worry about food or exercise. I was a smoker, ate what ever I wanted, when ever I wanted. I was far from healthy, but I was always skinny. I put on 30kgs + with my pregnancy and everyone always said it’ll just fall off. My reality was in the left photo.. it didn’t fall off! At Olivia’s first birthday I was 20kgs heavier then I had ever been in my life. I hated looking at myself. I rarely took photos because I didn’t know who that person was. I couldn’t walk up the stairs at home without being puffed out, let alone walk my dog without needing a break. After her first birthday and looking at myself in those photos and crying I made the decision to change. To change my lifestyle, not only for my own health and well-being, but for Olivia! I wanted her to have a fit and healthy mummy who can run around and chase her all day long. Who would go on adventures with her and not run out of breath. To have a mummy she can be proud of and not one to hide away when she finally goes to school. I wanted to be the best I could be for my little princess! So with a bit of time, patience, persistence and positivity I dropped that weight. I became healthier, fitter and stronger. Stronger physically & stronger mentally. I am beyond happy with my progress. It’s a slow and long journey but one I am choosing to enjoy every step of the way. A journey where both Olivia and I can enjoy activities and adventures together. Not to mention the amazing people we have met along the way who have become like family to us! They have motivated, encouraged and supported me along the way. There’s no end goal, anything is possible.
