Pulling out the boys’ snow gear in prep for the arctic blast and craving carbs which means I’m eating all the carbs. ilovecarbs ialsolovefall RIPfall 🍝 Here’s the recipe for this easy Pasta Pomodoro (if you can swing using San Marzano canned tomatoes they make all the difference here): 28 oz can whole tomatoes 14 oz can diced tomatoes 3 Tbsp olive oil 2 Tbsp minced garlic 2 Tbsp chopped basil 2 Tbsp butter 3 Tbsp grated parmesan 1 # cooked bucatini or spaghetti (reserve a cup of pasta water) 3-4 cups cooked shredded chicken (optional) In a blender or food processor, blend up the tomatoes; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Pour in tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook uncovered for 15 minutes, then season to taste with salt. Stir in basil, butter and parmesan cheese until well combined. Add cooked pasta and chicken and toss everything until pasta is well coated.

✔ Please doubletab and tag a Friend below We've been eating cheeseburgers wrong this whole time. ⁠ ⁠ Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs⁠ 3 slices bacon, diced⁠ ¼ cup onion, finely diced⁠ 1 pound ground beef, lean⁠ ½ teaspoon garlic powder⁠ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce⁠ Salt and pepper, to taste⁠ 1 tube biscuit dough, refrigerated (about 12 ounces)⁠ 8 dill pickle chips⁠ 1 small Roma tomato, thinly sliced⁠ 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded⁠ ¼ cup ketchup⁠ ¼ cup yellow mustard⁠ 4 tablespoons butter, unsalted and melted⁠ Sesame seeds⁠ ⁠ STEPS:⁠ Preheat oven to 375 degrees.⁠ In a large skillet over medium heat, cooked the bacon until crispy, and using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate until ready to use.⁠ In the same skillet, cook the onion until translucent, and add in the ground beef, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook until the beef is completely browned, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.⁠ Flatten out each biscuit round to a quarter of an inch thick, and top with a spoonful of the cooked ground beef mixture, a pickle, ketchup, mustard, cooked bacon, tomato slice, and shredded cheese. Bring the edges together and seal to create a ball. ⁠ On a parchment lined sheet tray, place the burger bombs seam-side-down. Brush the tops of the dough with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. By: Mercedes Sandoval and Tasty Ingredients (for 4 servings) 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided 1 lb chicken breast (455 g), diced 2 carrots, sliced 1 zucchini, sliced 1 yellow squash, sliced 4 cups fresh kale (270 g), chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 3 cups whole grain whole wheat rotini pasta (600 g), cooked al dente according to package instructions 2 teaspoons dried oregano, divided 2 teaspoons salt, divided 2 teaspoons pepper, divided Preparation Heat a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil on medium-high heat. Add in diced chicken breast, followed by 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, and 1 teaspoon oregano. Cook until no longer pink. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside. Add carrots to skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender. Add in zucchini and yellow squash, and sauté for an additional minute until they become slightly translucent. Add in the kale, followed by 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper. Sauté until kale begins to wilt. Move veggies aside with spatula and add in garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds and then combine with the veggies. (This works best if you add garlic to the center of the skillet where there is more heat.) Add in the cooked rotini pasta and chicken, followed by 1 teaspoon oregano and mix until evenly incorporated. Remove skillet from heat. If using plastic tupperware for your weekday meal prep, allow pasta to cool for about 10 minutes before filling the containers. Refrigerate up to 4 days. Or serve immediately for a family dinner. Add all the remaining ingredients, mixing really well so everything is incorporated evenly. By: Mercedes Sandoval and Tasty Ingredients (for 2 servings) 1 head cauliflower salt, to taste pepper, to taste ¼ cup sour cream (60 g), or greek yogurt ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (50 g) fresh parsley, chopped, optional Preparation Cut cauliflower into small florets, about 4 cups (1.2 kg). Add cauliflower florets into a 6-quart (6 L) Dutch oven of boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Drain the cauliflower in a colander, and return to the pot. Reduce heat to low. I don’t limit my food options, but I do change what I eat and mix it up quite a bit. I will eat vegan, keto and your regular meals whatever that may be because now a days every meal or diet has a name or category 🙄 Do I eat healthy most of the time of course I do because I know the benefits of it, but do I indulge once in a while of course I do because I love pizza and I like my wine. But I follow the 80/20 rule. And just because you eat healthy doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy pizza and other foods. I will eat the occasional pizza when I go out to dinner, but if I want pizza at home I will make a cauliflower pizza and it tastes just as good. In regard to food allergies which now many people seem to have. I believe most of it is due to how we prepare food and process it here in the United States. When I was in Italy I ate pasta every day we had pizza a few times a week and none of the food bothered me one bit, unlike when I go out to dinner here. If dairy bothers you then limit it or cut it out. Gluten allergy is a real issue and will show ...put simply, people with gluten sensitivity experience symptoms after ingesting gluten-containing grains and respond positively to a gluten-free diet — but do not have celiac disease or wheat allergy. If you do not experience gluten sensitivity then you .don’t have to worry about eating gluten. Also changing food brands and going from non-organic to organic pasture raised grass-fed can make a difference in your diet and sensitivity. I changed from Chobani and other yogurts which would upset my stomach to Stonyfield 100% grass fed organic yogurt and I have no issues whatsoever. This might not be the case with anyone but it is worth a try to change some of the foods that you’re eating. Sometimes we stress so much about what we are eating because of everything we read or hear and that in itself will throw your digestive system off balance. So stop listening and reading so much about what you should not be eating and what you should be eating and instead listen to your body your body knows better. And enjoy eating .... we have taken the enjoyment out of eating. Time to get it back!
