Double chocolate frozen yogurt with peanut butter fudge swirl. The good news is that it’s made with cultured yogurt, so at least you get your daily dose of Gut-nourishing probiotics with each bite! HealthyHabitsSolutions Dairyfree All you need is the ice cream maker. It was a great investment. I like making healthy ice cream in the summertime. Frozen yogurt.. 3 cups of coconut milk yogurt divided One cup of coconut milk Fourth of a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup 2 teaspoons of coconut oil Pinch of sea salt Have a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract swirl... 3 tablespoons of sunflower seed butter, unsweetened 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, melted 2 teaspoons of pure maple syrup Fourth of a cup of melted dark chocolate Make the frozen yogurt, placed the 2 cups of yogurt in the coconut milk in a sauce pan over medium to low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, whisking patiently, whisk in the coconut powder, maple syrup, chocolate, salt, and oil. Continue heating for five more minutes, until the chocolate is melted and all the ingredients are incorporated. Do not allow the mixer to boil. Remove from heat and transfer to a glass bowl. Add the remaining yogurt and the vanilla and stir to combine. Press with a piece of plastic wrap directly on the mixer and placed in the refrigerator for two hours or until the mixture has cool completely. We will prepare this world. Place the sunflower seed butter, oil, and maple syrup in a bowl and stir to combine. What is the chilled yogurt mixture in the ice cream maker and process cording to the directions. Or until it reaches a soft serve consistency. Spoon third of the frozen yogurt in the container. Drizzle half a cup of the sunflower seed butter over it, spread another third of that frozen yogurt on top of the chocolate and repeat with the remaining swirl ingredients. Top with remaining frozen yogurt.Place sheet of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the frozen yogurt to prevent freezer burn. Cover and freeze until firm at least two hours. Forgot to post my breakfast this morning after the gym- defrosting the freezer at home so using up all of the stuff in the veggie draw (explains this weird combo). I had toast topped with avocado, cucumber, tomato and then paprika fried quorn pieces with leftover veggie mince from Sainsbury’s. • Another nourish bowl Idea 😍 • - When you have no time or no mood to cook recipes which takes hours to make, nourish bowls for sure are a go to! How to make a nourish bowl, even if you think you have no ingredients to make it? Simply! ⬇️ I think you all have some greens in your fridge, for example LETTUCE, KALE, SPINACH, CABBAGE, ...so start with them. Grab a biiiig bowl. Put the green stuff inside. And if you have no green stuff, you can use any kind of fresh/cooked/baked/frozen and cooked vegetables. Now source of protein. If you have a TOFU, TEMPEH or SEITAN in your fridge, you have won! If not, don't worry. I'm sure you have some cans of BEANS or CHICKPEAS or LENTILS in your house. If you don't have cans, just cook some dried from a package if you have them. You also want some carbs, so what you're gonna do is grab anything from POTATOES, SWEET POTATOES, RICE, BUCKWHEAT or any kind of carbs you enjoy. You can add more vegetables, not just greens for the colour and extra taste. 😋 Now if you find a TAHINI or any kind of NUT BUTTER, add it! Or even HUMMUS (it goes well with literally everything!). Chinese Chik'n Style Seitan by kindwanderer.vegan.movement All Hail the Almighty Wheat Meat✨ . 1 1/2 cups vital wheat gluten 1/2 cup soy flour 1 tbsp liquid smoke 2 tbsp liquid aminos 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 1 cup water . 4 quarts water for boiling . Combine flours with flavourings and one cup water and knead for a few min until dough is firm and stretchy - about 5-7 min. Let it rest. Get a deep pot and fill it with 4 quarts of water and bring to slow boil. Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat to simmer and place it on the smallest burner. You can add soy sauce and a piece of ginger or other flavourings to the pot if you'd like. Once the water is simmering nicely, knead the seitan one more time. Cut it into smaller chunks and then simmer in the pot for 45 min to an hr. Use it immediately or store the seitan in its broth for 7-10 days in the fridge. You can also freeze it for a couple of months. . ***if you want firmer seitan, you could steam it instead of boiling it. I bought a sweater yesterday... and was sent into a full blown panic attack. Summer feels like it is slipping away, leaving me anxious and worried about the change of seasons (and don’t even get me started on the idea of snow). So today I am challenging myself to be present- to be grateful for this late-August heat wave, for the ability to go to a farmers market to pick up fresh produce, to reflect on the amazing summer I have had so far full of sunshine and family. I am so, so privileged. One thing I’ve mastered this summer is a perfectly cooked salmon. Crispy skin, flaky layers, beautiful pink middle. I’ve been serving it on basically anything but this greens, sweet potato, red beets, and sprout plate was as delicious as it was beautiful 🌈. My secret? Cook skin side down in a roaring hot cast iron until cooked half way through, then flip and place in a 400 degree oven until the skin is crackling and the center is hot (5-8 minutes depending on your filet). Day 1 recap (August 18) - it was supposed to rain for most of the day. We had arrived the day before and were unpacked and settled. The morning looked decent so we took the boys for a mile walk to the old lighthouse and also the harbor. Thompson was obsessed with the boats and did decent on the small trails. The day stayed nice so after lunch we walked up to the new lighthouse and did more trails. Samuel was in heaven. We did quite a bit considering we thought the day would be low key. Multiple walks/hikes around the area, and I even did some much needed yoga. Check out the view from my mat. easy like sunday morning 🌞 • • Trader Joe’s buttermilk protein pancake mix that I used my mini waffle maker to turn me into waffles. winner winner bbq chix sandwich dinner 🐔🥪 • • this was thrown together in like 5 minutes and was so yummy, and of course I’m obsessed with my big ass salads. I’m all about the volume foods, the more I can eat the happier I am🙈 • • So the sandwich is on a whole wheat English muffin, with a boneless skinless chicken thigh, tessamaes BBQ, & goveggie mozzarella, my salad is the same same per usual, a bag of iceberg 🥗 mix, & bolthouse farms salsa ranch dressing.
