My gym is shutting for a week and I’m not very excited about it 😢😢 Good workout tonight, 25 min HIIT, 20 min LISS on treadmill, mid incline and slow pace and some abs and back. Used to hate training abs bc I was embarrassed about my tummy but need to remember we aren’t at the gym to impress people, we are there to work hard so just getting on with it. Only person you’re in competition with is yourself ✌️

Day 18...24 days left of the ”6 weeks of diet” thats on my stories. I’m happy to be back with good routines. I keep working harder and harder. At the same time I hold myself back to not get over trained or have to much calorie deficit. I have some pain in my right foot at the moment but that’s the only thing that doesn’t feel alright. I’d rather not look at any position as win or lose to be honest. I look at the journey as a whole. I placed 2nd in tall against a stacked class and placed in the top 5 against 18 stacked athletes and got my ticket to worlds. I didn’t compete in worlds because I had too much going on that I just could not sacrifice.. . I love this game. You can now buy protein cereals, protein bars, protein balls, protein shakes, protein chips, protein popcorn the list goes on and on. The word protein definitely seems to be appearing more on discretionary food items like ice cream, chocolates and cookies (to name a few). ⠀ The use of the word protein is just another marketing tactic food manufacturers are utilising to create that 'health halo' effect to sell their products. Remember, just because a packaged food product is marketed as being a source of ‘protein’, it doesn’t automatically make it a better choice! ⠀ Often these ‘protein’ products are not even that high in protein. The above is a classic example. A small 200 mL glass of skim milk provides more protein than the protein cookie! There really isn’t anything special about the protein cookie product, the protein to carb ratio isn’t that great either. I was even able to add some regular choc chip cookies alongside the glass of milk to make it a more realistic comparison! It is important to not just focus on one nutrient. Food and nutrition is far more complex than that! Yes of course protein is important but It is always important to look at the big picture when making food choices to avoid being fooled by food manufacturers. ⠀ Before looking for protein via discretionary food items like cookies, cakes, chocolates and ice-cream. Remember there are plenty of foods that are naturally high in protein. Focus on obtaining protein from our core foods groups instead. ⠀ Pick cookies for enjoyment, taste, preference and satisfaction NOT for protein 🙃

Makes 2 servings: ▫️Prep time: 5 minutes ▫️Cooking time 25 minutes . . Macro’s 🔶Calories: 839 🔷Carbs: 75g 🔶Fat: 33g 🔷Protein: 54g . . 📝 Ingredients 📝 🔘 3 cloves of garlic 🔘 1 tbsp of olive oil 🔘 300g of chicken breasts 🔘 150g (dry) of rice 🔘 400g of light coconut milk 🔘 40g crunchy peanut butter 🔘 1tbsp of cornflour 🔘 4tbsps of reduced salt soy sauce 🔘 75 frozen peas . . All of the ingredients came from sainsburys but can also be purchased in most major supermarkets. . . 👩‍🍳 Method 👨‍🍳 1️⃣ Prep the ingredients by crushing the garlic and then dicing the chicken separately. Begin the cook the rice however you normally would cook it. 2️⃣ Add the oil to a pan and begin to heat on a moderate heat, then add the garlic.
