1 sheet puff pastry Wewalka puff pastry recommended
1 8oz wheel Brie
1/2 cup cranberry sauce homemade or store-bought whole-berry cranberry sauce
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (or both)
1 egg, beaten
To serve: grapes, apple slices, crackers, sliced baguette
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out puff pastry onto the paper. Cut off about 1/3 of the puff pastry (reserve).
Place the wheel of Brie in the middle of the larger piece of puff. .
Top the Brie with cranberry sauce and nuts.
Fold the puff around the Brie until it is entirely wrapped, smoothing any seams with your finger. Brush the puff with the beaten egg.
Optionally, cut use a cookie cutter to cut decorative shapes out of the reserved, unused piece of puff. Add the shapes to top of the wrapped Brie, and brush with more beaten egg. Bake the Brie for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Serve immediately along with fresh fruit, crackers, or sliced baguette.
