. . . How often do you ask yourself how are you feeling before training? I'll be completely honest in saying I've been lucky to work out once a week for months. I simply have not felt up to it for some time now. But this week I've felt a shift and I'm just rolling with it 🙏 Though i only managed to hit half of my usual working set weights, it felt good to move my body again. I enjoy working out, i enjoy the post workout endorphins, i enjoy the boost of energy i get from doing so. More so, I enjoy exercising on my own accord and not because i felt i had to maintain a certain look, or had to work off the food I indulged in whilst on holidays. because of the way my schedule is set uo this semester, as well as having a job, going to the gym has not been possible for me. unfortunately my mental health has suffered because of it and i didn’t realize it until yesterday. because i’ve been working out for over a year and a half, my body is used to constantly producing endorphins, but not going to the gym for about a month has really negatively impacted me. i’ve been in such a depressive mood, so unmotivated, and so tired. now i know better than to go that long without working out. exercise and working out is truly a lifestyle, and once you start, you can’t stop. listen to your body, and listen to your mind and take care of them selfcaresunday - - will definitely need to start managing my time better and prioritize the things that i need to do in order to succeed. 🙌🏾

10.18am: Still keeping myself honest. Got up much later and did a short meditation in bed. Just got out of my HIIT training with a group of senior retirees all seemed to be over age 70. As I was jogging with one of the gentleman who is a retired dentist, I benefitted from our conversations regarding the science of longevity. He shared a science research article with me later on the correlation between longevity and our aerobic fitness and also shared with me his love story of how he met his second wife. For once, I could talk and jog without feeling too breathless.❤😇😆 I managed to push through and finished the entire training today although I still feel nauseous at the end. Now off to meditate on the deck by the lake and lean on my favourite tree to enjoy a peaceful Monday. Wow, self talk was rough with this one... Basically I was certain, 💯 certain I would not be able to run/jog (not sure I know the difference 😜) 1 mile without stopping (never done it before). Whether I could or couldn’t was not the issue but the decision I’d made that I could not. When I heard sydneejaine ‘s Run Club at kaizen_fs ran/jogged 🤷‍♀️ a mile, I was inspired to try. I fought my thoughts the entire time. I did not bring any devices with so it was me and my brain, a battle between ‘cannot’ and ‘just do’. Minor injuries 🦵 do not mean sitting out on workouts. It just means working out smarter, modifying moves as needed, and taking the necessary precautions. After Tuesday’s tweak, my knee has been a little stiff and swollen but thankfully instability has not been an issue. 😅 However, for FriYay PiYo, since there’s a lot more quick movements, I definitely played it safer, using my knee brace just in case. Thankfully, everything went great! 🙌 As for the class itself, it was odd walking into class and not seeing my usual PiYo peeps in the front row😮, and then also not seeing our regular PiYo instructor either who was out sick!
