A little more about my morning training in fasting. 🌞🔥 I love waking up and inquiring about knowing myself, paying attention to how I feel and inspiring me to reinforce my skills, for this it is important to wake up and perform dynamic or static meditation activities. . Frugal Keto Dine Out 窮人生酮外食  It’s hard to beat AYCE buffet style at the casino buffet The draw for me is the salad bar with 4 kinds of greens, 3 seafood, tons of toppings and dressing choices (skip all the potato salad, beans, corns and pasta salad). Put some dressing for show but mostly is olive oil drizzle (got it from the bread aisle🤪) You can’t go wrong with roast beef and au jus. I love all the mash potatoe toppings anyways but not so much the potatoes so excuse me while I dunk the beef in sour cream😻 Also I typed roast beef wrong so excuse me 😔 The salad was too good so went for a second helping. Recently developed an addiction to roasted purple cabbage with mandarin orange.... didn’t know it could be so tangy! Not to mention the brilliant coloring. Routinely skipped all the soup and bread section. In case you wonder how do people do OMAD after extended fast.... well I had been practicing for last 4 months. My weekly Refeed Meal Type 🅰️ after 72hr fasts 📍OMAD 📍Volume/amount of food=1.75 to 2 days worth Typically I go for 2hr long meal, with food in the following sequence: 1️⃣soup 2️⃣vegetable salad , mixed of fiber types for nutrients. Incorporate hormonal support food per Dr Pelz’s ketobiotic list. I typically have 1.5 plate to two plates of salad 3️⃣proteins 4️⃣DIy sugar free dessert, sometimes I will have the real thing depends on my calories & carbs balance for the week. Then I go for long walk or muscle toning exercise that does not require body being very active. It takes 24 hr to return to ketosis. But on fasting days I have 100% in ketosis, plus deep autophagy ketosis, usually GKI below 1.0 All the food in the photo was from Tandoori Flames Indian Buffet.The dessert is my own creation. Days of being a Keto Beginner 🤓🤓🤓 was feeling pretty good eating in keto way to be in mild ketosis, aka “Nutritional” ketosis of 0.5 mmol/L. Time to kick it up couple notches by going deeper into “endogenous” ketosis ❌not by artificial bumping up ketones. There is no need to chase a high ketone number, for me the objective is to get into the process of releasing body fat cells (and the toxins trapped inside) in order to do a deep cleanse/purge. Do you use Life or Zero to track your fast? I use both! Zero give you a summary of historical fast, Life does not. It’s helpful in the fasting journey to have these little snap shots made up to commemorate each fast ..... doesn’t need to be perfect! Like dr fung says “we are looking for progress, not perfection”...... ❌So yesterday I fell of fasting track. At 24 hr Mark I was in the mall and ate too many pecans ➡️felt instantly like a train had it me! Pecans are one of the lowest carb nuts yet when one is at fasted state, the muscles just want to spare all the glucose for the brain, so even eating pecans when fasted spiked my glucose-insulin; hence the sleepiness and tiredness. It took over 2 hrs to pass. All that time I was in nutritional ketosis. This morning blood glucose went way down to 60. Ketones 1.9 GKI=1.75🥰🥰🥰 This is a very decent autophagy fast metric. ➡️,to see how to understand the GKI score which is based off both glucose and ketone readings. Hopefully next few fasts I can get more disciplined and not have to use a fasting aid. But that’s my back up plan anyways. If I cannot do a water fast, then resort to fast mimicking FMD (500 calories max no animal proteins and eat it all at once). The Final Fasting Plan is Done! Here is how everything come together. This is the overview of this week’s fasting and feasting plan. Goal is to drop from 118lb to 115lb (fed weight) and build muscles. Each week lose about 2-3 lbs➡️one month 8-12lbs..... I should be done with all the weight loss by mid November with a full 4 weeks to spare in case something happen and sabotage the plan. I took quite a few hours to put together the charts, but once it is set up, it becomes a template to set up next weeks goals. So the time invested is well worth it. Fasting Training➡️Not Perfect, but 🎯🎯🎯Goal Achieved. The top most frequent posts on fasting support groups is lament of not completing a fast. Although I am a novice in extended fasting (for autophagy, stem cell, weight loss, insulin and metabolic reset), I could say that it doesn’t take Perfect Practice to get Desired Outcome. ➡️see how I foolishly set unrealistic fasting goals (long hours) and had a hard time finishing them. This was because I came out of a 1 month vacation feasts that: 📍kicked me out of ketosis 📍reawakens love of sweets 📍overate until my liver is full of stored glucose again and start storing fuel as fat 📍are too often, probably raised my baseline insulin level So the past 2 weeks was real struggle to retrain: 1️⃣my hunger signal hormones ghrelin 2️⃣the sweetness withdrawal, and 3️⃣the discomfort of running low on glucose Since I got below goal weight ahead of schedule, I ate a low protein green salad to fight off eating high carb treats. Didn’t clock in any weight gain and able to continue with the rest of Autophagy fasting. Here I showed that I use two fasting apps: ✅Zero have a nice graph to illustrate fasting history, with great learning resource and simple interface. ✅Life App has option to post mood (important) and the symbols of fire etc keeps my purpose of stretching out one more hour easier. But it does not have “historic” graph. For weight I just just my old smart scale from Fitbit Aria. Have allcthe data sync between Apple phone health app, Zero, and other exercise app (I use one for Planks and one for running). First off, Fasting doesn’t mean eating less food! I eat more than most men in restaurant and lose weight. It’s about keep all the food and snacks within a reasonable short eating window ➡️cut the snacking habit that keep insulin level high all day long. Emotional Eating = Keto Barrier Overcoming the desire for sweets, snacks, chips that often cause us to eat too often, or too much dietary fats (cream-cheese cakes and cookies), is a huge barrier for those who came to keto for weight loss. Some may lose a bunch in the beginning, then come to a halt. It is so frustrating to keep “being good” and not seeing more results. Some give up and write long blogs about how keto is a fad diet and it didn’t work for them. IF keto didn’t work for them, had any other diet or will any other diet work for them, in the long run? Keto or not, for weight loss, the key is understanding the cause of excess weight gain and devise a plan to curb certain “eating practices”. The one that I struggle the most with is Eating to Make Myself Feel Good. Perhaps Dr Mindy Pelz articulates this state of mind for eating best as “self soothing”➡️ we are not eating to take care of our health and well being, but eating for momentarily pleasure or numb a certain anxiety. All diet works, until it doesn’t (The Obesity Code) We obsess so much about what to eat (LCHF, Keto) but we forgot to be mindful “how often” we are eating. Frequent eating causes sustained high insulin level. ‼️insulin=fat storing hormones No matter how strict I was with keto and macros, I was not getting below 125lbs. Dieser Spruch zeigt kurz und prägnant, was Erfolg ausmacht. Man muss genug Motivation haben, um ein Projekt zu beginnen und danach dranbleiben, um mit Routine sein Ziel zu erreichen. Viele von euch folgen mir hier auf Instagram wegen meines Erfolges mit Intervallfasten und Krafttraining. Und diesen Erfolg habe ich genau nach diesem Prinzip erreicht. Meine Motivation mit Intervallfasten zu beginnen war meine Tochter, die ich beim Abnehmen unterstützen wollte. Wie dann auch bei mir die ersten Kilos verschwunden sind, war das der Ansporn, dabeizubleiben. Mit dem neuen Körpergefühl kam dann die Liebe zum Sport, insbesondere zum Krafttraining. Haben wir vorige Woche noch bei Regenwetter gefroren, ist nun in Österreich der Sommer mit Temperaturen über 30 Grad eingezogen. Jetzt ist die heimische Erdbeerernte mit etwa 3 Wochen Verspätung voll im Gange und wir nutzen die Gelegenheit ausgiebig, diese herrlichen Früchte beinahe vor der Haustür direkt vom Feld zu beziehen. Die Beeren sind groß, süß und saftig, kein Vergleich zur Supermarktware. Regional, keine Transportwege und ohne Verpackungsmüll, besser geht's nicht.
