Coconut Ube Tart Continuing with flavors from Hawaii, I tried making a coconut ube tart this time! This mixture of flavors is very refreshing and is very versatile for different types of fruit decorations! I used papaya and kiwi to help decorate the top. Ingredients Crust: 3/4 C butter - softened 1/2C confectioners sugar 1.5C all purpose flour 1/4 tsp salt Coconut ube curd: 1 can of coconut cream 1.5 tsp ube extract (butterfly) 2 large eggs 2 large egg yolk 0.9C of sugar 4 Tbsp corn starch 3 Tbsp butter 3 Tbsp olive oil Fruit of choice for decoration . . Steps: Preheat oven to 300F 1) Cream butter with confectioners sugar until light and fluffy. Add salt, then and add flour in 3 portions and mix until you have a shortbread dough. 2) Press into tart pan and bake for ~26m. Now set oven to 350F degrees. 3) Heat coconut on low heat until the mixture is smooth. Add 1.5Tsp of ube extract and add 0.4C of sugar. 4) Mix eggs and egg yolks with remaining 1/2C of sugar in a separate bowl. Temper the eggs by adding part of guava fruit mixture to eggs. 6) Add egg mixture into the pot over low heat and stir. Add corn starch 1 Tbsp at a time and continue whisking until smooth. 7) Add 3 Tbsp butter, 1Tbsp at a time until it melts into the mixture. Continue whisking over low heat until mixture thickens. Veggie Stir Fry! AALND ITS VEGAN FRIENDLY! GEEZ! . Baked Tofu: 1 block tofu (drained and pressed then cut into cubes), 2 tsp garlic chili sauce, 1 tbsp tamari, and 1 tbsp nutritional yeast. Add tofu cubes to a container and add in remaining ingredients. Seal container and give container some gentle shakes to completely coat tofu. Once coated add to a lined baking sheet and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 400F. . For veggie stir fry, in a pan add sliced mushrooms and onion and sauté until onions are translucent. Add in hearty veggies like broccoli, add a splash of tamari and 2 tbsp water. Cover pan and let cook until broccoli has turned bright green, about 4-5 minutes. Add less hearty veggies like bell pepper and add another splash of tamari and a splash of sweet chili sauce (I used about 1 tbsp). Sauté until veggies are fully coated and most of the liquid cooks off, 3 minutes. Add in tofu and coat before removing from heat. Ugnsbakad potatis med stekt fläsk, kokt broccoli och bearnaisesås❣ Ingredienser: Potatis, fläsk, broccoli, bearnaisesås (pulver, behövs vatten smör till såsen), rapsolja, sesamolja, aromat krydda, finmalen svartpeppar, paprikapulver, vitlökspulver, honung, grönsaksbuljon, potatiskrydda, salt, bakplåtspapper. Gör så här: 1. Jag marinerade fläsket med rapsolja, aromat, svartpeppar finmalen, paprikapulver, vitlökspulver och honung. Jag lät det stå i kylskåpet i några timmar. 2. Ugn 180°C. 3. Potatisen skakade jag och delade i fyra delar och marinerade med sesamolja, potatiskrydda och vitlökspulver och blandade det väl på bakplåtspapper som låg på en ugnsplåt. 4. Jag skar broccoli i mindre bitar och tvättade det. Jag la det i en kastrull med vatten och grönsaksbuljong. 4. Jag hällde bearnaisesås (pulver) i en kastrull fylld med vatten. 5. Jag la potatisen i ugnen ca 40-50 minuter och under tiden började jag att steka fläsket, kokade broccoli och såsen. Vegetarian Ramen 🍜 * Ramen rice noodles 1 Carrot 2 tsp chopped fresh ginger 2 cloves Galic 1 Green onion Handful Shitake mushrooms 1 oyster mushroom 1 pack Shimei mushrooms 1 tsp Tamari 1 tsp miso paste 1 chilli pepper 2 bok choy Sesame oil 2 cups vegetable broth * 1) In a deep pan warm some sesame oil, add garlic, chilli (to taste), ginger and chopped green onion. Let fry for a couple of minutes. 2) Add chopped mushrooms to a pan and fry for a couple of minutes. Then add carrot, fry for a couple of minutes. 3) Boil rice noodles separately. Meanwhile, chop Bok Choy and add to the frying pan. Add tamari and miso paste, mix well. Pour vegetable broth over the vegetable and let to simmer. 4) When noodles are ready, drain them And wash with cold water. nofilternofilterneededI just made this random oats recipe this morning which really came out good.. Lets call it Tropical Smoothie Oats. I had 1/2 can of full fat coconut milk to use up and oats is the best way to use it up. So this is what I did: Toast 1/4th cup old fashioned oats in some butter for couple minutes. Then add 1/4th cup quinoa flakes, 1/2 can full fat coconut milk, dash each of cinnamon, ground ginger and cardamom, 1/4th cup frozen mango, 1 tbsp shredded coconut, few pieces of pecans, 1 tsp maple syrup (optional), pinch of sea salt and cook on medium low for few minutes till porridge is thick and creamy. Top with more shredded coconut and some hemp seeds. This ricepilaf with toasted almonds was exceptionally delicious! I assess a cook by how they make two things from scratch: rice and beans. They seem like such simple things to make, but I can assure you they’re not—not with the goal of having all of the elements (color, flavor and texture; separateness and fluffiness or stickiness of the rice; and the thickness of the gravy and final appearance of the beans) in harmony. It’s so easy to mess them up if you do the slightest thing off, and you must start over; there is no salvaging crunchy rice or busted beans. (Unless you’re in the mood for refried/reTRIED beans or bean pies. 😂) I used Persian saffron for this dish and a special large domed pot with a vented lid to create a “super steamer” situation for the rice. The onions I diced and sautéed were organic Vidalia ones, which are pleasingly sweet when they sweat even a little bit.
