➰Got a great leg day in today to makeup for my test day yesterday.➰ I am super glad I listened to my body though because I was able to perform well today and felt great! Listen to your body when you need a day off to recover. I suggest taking an "active rest day". For me that meant doing a long stretch session/yoga. 🐾You could even go for a walk with the dog or on a leisurely bike ride. So yesterday I did my first workout in a while and not going to lie I went a bit too hard! Today my quads burn so bad I can barely move!! Unfortunately my sciatica has flared up again so I’m currently sitting in bed with a hot water bottle by my side. I went to the gym today and I was thinking about doing a workout but I was in far too much pain. I walked on the treadmill at about 3mph for 20 minutes to loosen up my quads and then I did some foam rolling and mobility and stretching to try and help my sciatica. I was in a lot of pain!! I’m going to take it easy tomorrow. A little bit of this, a little bit of that and a whole lotta dancing! One thing I’ve noticed starting this program is that some people don’t like it when you change. Especially when it’s for the better. Sounds backwards, right? My theory for this is that your success makes some feel uncomfortable because you’ve woken up and they’re still sleeping. And I only believe this because I was that person on the other side for so long. Alternating between being In and out of being on a “good one” and looking from the outside in with everyone else’s success stories. All the while thinking to myself “damn. Wish I looked like that, wish I could do what she’s doing, wish I felt happier, Maybe this diet will work it works for them, maybe this magic pill can help, she’s so confident in her own skin what’s wrong with me??” And NEVER. STAYING. CONSISTENT. I’ve been doing this program for the better part of 2 months now. #teamnodaysoff I’ve had faith in the process and seen results but ONLY because I tuned everyone else’s frequencies (that weren’t benefiting me) OUT. TURN IT ALL OFF. Focus on the good. Keep the people that cheer you on around you. Let them help you keep that light alive!! It can be hard to do it by yourself. My family members are my biggest cheerleaders. I come from a very active family so it wasn’t hard to sway them but the fact that I got them all in on this last one PUMPED ME UP!! My dad was on the side lines saying “wow that looks hard” at everything and then picked up a set of weights and started doing it with me!! We all pump each other up and that’s what it’s all about. I’m not in it for the money. I’m trying to live my best life and maybe help encourage a couple others along the way. Continuing to improve in different ways 👍🏼 Worked on driving my knees forward while descending my squat. Really felt my legs under me for once rather than relying on my hips. Reps moved a bit slower than usual but didn’t feel much more difficult, just more controlled. Still have a lot to work on but I’ve been loving squatting as of late. By the way I’ll take a set of 6 paused over 8 not paused any day. Bench was actually nice too, focused entirely on using my lats to descend, to the point where I actually felt a pump for once after the sets. Also tried to use my core and brace more on the bench, something I haven’t really done well. Now just have to hammer these things into every rep of every set. Feeling much more stable and strong overall, can’t wait to see what the future holds. Last two flavours of the @optimumnutrition_ie protein bars that have been released recently 1st is the chocolate caramel flavor and this was my favorite of the range. Texture similar to the previous bars reviewed. Again a dark chocolate bar that surrounds a fluffy whipped Centre with a caramel layer on top. As expected protein sources are from good quality isolate and milk protein. Macros are very similar across the range and what stands out across all the bars is the softness of the bars. Taste wise the caramel and chocolate works well together and if you like dark chocolate you’ll love these. 20g Protein across the range and one I’d buy again if I saw it in shops. 2nd flavour is the chocolate peanut butter and apologies but I had eaten it before I remembered to take a photo. A nice PB flavor without being too overpowering and very easy to eat again Similar makeup to the other bars with a dark chocolate surrounding the caramel layer and PB texture. Chocolate and PB work so well as a combination and the guys have got the amount of each in the bar just right. What stood out across the whole range of these bars is that no matter how long you leave them in the fridge they are still very soft to eat so no jaw breaking along the way. 20g of Protein as standard. 5 hour actual running adventures on the mountain today(paused my watch when I took some zen time at the peaks and a little lunchtime ). Today’s run was entertaining to say the least. I covered a lot of miles hitting I believe every trail there, which led to some funny looks and “hey didn’t we see you a couple hours ago over there” to finishing my run by standing directly under a waterfall for a couple minutes. My apologies to all the people who wanted pics of the waterfall and I probably photobombed looking like a weirdo, it felt Ahhhhmazing none the less and soooo worth it😜 I ran across a copperhead on the trail so bushwhacked a little to get around him, met some cool people, and let’s not forget the time spent in the pain cave. Killed it squatting last night with my bro @thabigdog32 ! 🤘 Did a powerlifting to volume session which was actually pretty fun until the volume part.... 😥 Showing my top sets with heavy singles first. Managed a single with 405 which was fairly easy, then failed 415 (mental mistake), then redeemed myself with another single with 405 right after. Honestly my last set with 405 I really dug deep for! Smh for not doing that with 415 because I felt I legit had it.... would've been a PR for bodyweight too! 😢 lol 😅

Part.3 Solo uscendo dalla nostra “confort zone” potremo davvero tirare fuori le nostre potenzialità più vere e vincenti. Solo mettendoci in discussione con noi stessi e con gli altri avremo modo di tirare fuori il nostro carattere e la nostra motivazione. A me è successo. Dopo anni e anni di “confort zone” mi sentivo in una trappola composta da un telaio di paura di #fallire, paura di #parlare, paura di #volere di più. Gli altri si aspettavano da me SOLO certe cose, pretendendo e non ascoltandomi. Ero arrivata a ragionare con la testa degli altri e mi facevo influenzare quasi del tutto. Mio marito lo sa bene. Chiudevo gli occhi e pur di non affrontare il mio ostacolo, che vedevo come un enorme masso..ci ho girato intorno millemila volte finché...un bel respiro, presa di coraggio e...l’ho saltato. Saltando mi sono scoperta me stessa e ad oggi credo che quel masso lì sia stato la mia forgia vera e propria. Perciò sì, l’uomo scopre se stesso quando si misura con l’ostacolo. Part.2 OSTACOLO: LIMITE O OPPORTUNITÀ? La vita è sempre piena di ostacoli. Si sa. Chi non si è mai trovato dinanzi a piccoli grandi momenti di difficoltà, sconforto, paura, senso di frustrazione durante un percorso verso un obiettivo, un sogno o semplicemente ci sentiamo fuori strada se nella nostra giornata non riusciamo a fare tutto ciò che abbiamo programmato? Ecco, questa è la normalità.. questo accade un giorno sì e l’altro pure ma non dobbiamo lasciarci sviare o scoraggiare se in quel momento si inseriscono fattori che non avevamo preventivato perché proprio questi possono rivelarsi sì dei limiti, ma anche delle opportunità. Come dico spesso, dipende da noi. Dipende dalla tua motivazione. Un conto è adottare l’atteggiamento del “povero me”, oppure guardare le avversità come un’opportunità per crescere e trovare altri modi per fare le cose. Ogni sconfitta, ogni difficoltà, ogni frustrazione può contenere il seme per migliorare le tue prestazioni la volta successiva. Gli ostacoli possono ritardare il raggiungimento dei tuoi obiettivi, ma non ti possono schiacciare. L’unica ragione per cui sarai schiacciato è se si inizi a credere alle loro minacce. Approccia ogni ostacolo come un insegnante e non come un tuo avversario.
