Something to even out the insane amount of sugar getting thrown around this apartment today in the form of baked pasta with lots of garlicy, sausagey, basily, roasty, sauce. And lots of slightly funky cheese, clearly. Homemade bread and vintage Pyrex for bonus points. letmefeedyou pasta bakedpasta casserolesarecool food52grams feedfeed foodporn cheesy foodphotography

Ta daaa. This is the pretty Instagram version of the cookie box I’ll be giving the our mailman, UPS man, post office lady etc. because lawd knows they’re being worked this season! Can you believe I almost boxed these beauties up without taking a photo?! What kind of a food blogger/recipe developer am I?! Thank goodness I stumbled upon cosetteskitchen via the.food.collective and discovered the virtualcookieparty2019 and was saved. Anyhoo. Here’s my contribution: the UPS box will contain: good old fashioned sugar cookies, Oreo truffles (plain, orange and peppermint) and chocolate kiss cookies. Recipes up on the blog. Link in profile/comments. Side note... my frosting is made with collagen matcha (vitalproteins )freeze dried strawberry powder, wolfberry powder (suncorefoods )and turmeric. Because I had these ingredients on hand, but NOT food coloring 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻‍♀️. I know. No one is surprised. I’ll do a blog post on that later this week! Stay tuned. Hope everyone is having THE BEST Holiday season. . . . . f52 f52fall kitchn foodgawker foodphotographyschool foodporn healthyish mywilliamssonoma imsomartha makesmewhole flatlaytoday thenewhealthy shareyourtable cookie xmascookies holidaybaking baking f52grams f52bakingclub food52grams bonappetit thefeedfeed.baking feedfeedbaking feedfeed feedfeedchocolate feedfeedbaking christmascookies holidayseason cookieseason2019 cookieseason

Rating: 7/10. This is the Filet from Lockwood Restaurant at Palmer House Hilton (palmerhousehilton) in Chicago, IL. The filet was 5 oz center cut and included charred scallions and garlic fries. The meal was SO yummy (the filet was juicy even though it looks dry here), and the Pinot noir I enjoyed with it was good too. However, the service was a bit slow, and it took a while for the bartender to greet me. I still recommend you to come here, especially because the interior design of this place is exquisite and beautiful! A lady I spoke to at the bar told me to next time make my boyfriend take me here, call it a business dinner, and have my company pay for it. I like the way she thinks, but I have integrity, so NO to that one! I will take myself out here, and you should too!

Rating: 4/10. This is the Seafood Pasta from Signature Room (signatureroom95) in Chicago, IL. The dish consisted of fettuccine, crabs, scallops, salmon & sea bass, rock shrimp, roasted vegetables, and clam cream sauce. The only reason I didn’t give a lower rating is because the food was so yummy, and I’d definitely recommend you to try it! However, the service was horrendous. They initially told me I can’t dine here because I needed a reservation. It was a half empty dining floor, so I made a reservation right there so I could be seated. I question the competence of the staff, but it gets worse. I dined here by myself, and they seated me at a table in the middle of the dining floor, surrounded by other tables, and I felt awkward. I asked to move to a quieter space maybe by a corner. The manager sassily said he didn’t know what I meant by that and stated that it was inconvenient for servers to serve a table outside of their zone. I was quick to tell him that I worked in the restaurant industry, and if a guest requested something, I’d go OUT OF MY “CONVENIENT” WAY to make him or her happy. Anyways, the food was good, and I’m sure it’s just one bad experience, but I can’t recommend this place based on it. Maybe order this dish to go.

Rating: 6/10. This is the Santa Fe salad from Harry Caray’s Tavern (harrycarays) in Chicago, IL. The salad consisted of blackened chicken breast, romaine, roasted corn, black beans, avocado, pico de Gallo, queso Presco, and chipotle ranch. The salad was okay, but nothing too special. I ordered a Tito’s and tonic with my salad (trying to balance one healthy thing with an unhealthy thing) and the bartender made it strong 💪🏼 so I was a happy girl. As my sports fans know, Harry Caray was an American sportscaster, and this restaurant is sports themed. So if you’re a sports fan, come here. If not, I wouldn’t recommend you going out of your way to visit.
