Between taking care of him and Clementine I’ve barely had time to do laundry or even wash my hair... but I’m hoping to get back in the kitchen and work on some new recipes soon for ya🤞🏼

So pumped for this {non-alcoholic} digestive bitters!! I’ve attempted this before and tried buying it and this is my favorite so far. So delicious! Digestive bitters help improve digestion by stimulating digestive secretions to help break down and absorb your food. . This one is made with dandelion root and leaf, ginger, juniper berries, yarrow and grapefruit peel in vegetable glycerine. It’s actually very easy to make and you can really add any ingredients you want, with a focus on bitter plants. I picked the dandelion, yarrow and juniper berries and bought the ginger and grapefruit then submerged it in the glycerine for 6 ish weeks. On top of digestive support the herbs also support the body. I focused on dandelion root as the number one ingredient to give my families liver some liver backup. One thing that being sick taught me is how precious life is.⠀ ⠀ We don’t know what tomorrow might bring, & we are all here on Earth for a short period of time. How can we make the most of it?⠀ ⠀ All throughout my healing process, I made sure to soak up & deeply appreciate every moment that I felt good or at least better in.⠀ ⠀ I began to cherish every relationship I have & appreciate people for their strengths & even their quirks.⠀ ⠀ I learned who my true friends (& family) are.⠀ ⠀ I now put less pressure on myself, & I make joy a priority. I no longer put off pleasure until “later”. I soak up every ounce of enjoyment that I can in this life. But I also see pleasure differently than most, because pleasure is often associated with food & mistaken for addiction. I learned that unhealthy foods actually do not bring me true pleasure, only temporary satisfaction & emotional suppression. It was an addictive cycle, & I realized that I actually feel my best & most capable of living life to the fullest when I am fueling myself on healing foods. My healing lifestyle brings me infinitely more joy & pleasure than unhealthy foods & lifestyle choices ever did.⠀ ⠀ I now see the world through big picture lenses, rather than just through my own personal vision. I am tuned into the big problems of the world, & I am consciously aware of how I can contribute to the solutions. ⠀ ⠀ I don’t hold back in expressing how I feel anymore. I use my voice. I speak up for what I believe in. I am confident in myself in every way. I love my body. & I learned how to love my body while it was breaking down on me, so that love carries through no matter what happens & no matter what my outer shell looks like. I have a whole new appreciation for the human body, what makes it tick, & all that it does for us. I love what makes me unique. I love what makes everyone else unique. Even though drinking coffee can help you to boost some energy it doesn’t mean that there is no price for such a “gift” and the price is called a “caffeine crush”. A caffeine crash will typically have you falling asleep about 8-12 hours after you drink it. You should avoid caffeine less than 8 hours before you go to bed so it doesn’t affect your sleep. ○○○ 🌿☕SHILAJIT HELPS: Once you start consuming Shilajit you will realize that you don’t really need coffee for the energy boost anymore, because you have enough and don’t experience any “caffeine crushes” ○○○ Quit it. Make a decision and stop it. Yes, you get an immediate boost with coffee but in the long run, it's a trap. ○○○ 👍🏻☕Here’s an idea that works: substitute coffee with Shilajit. Just a quick lunch share from this past week as we are soaking up all the time we can with my mom and grandpa Marc! We met up with my siblings and their kids for a big day at the pool this afternoon and were able to get in a couple of hours of fun until a lightening storm swept in! I’ve never seen people clear a pool so fast! Already missing the simplest, yet most incredible, delicious and mostly healthy (except for the French fries!) Greek 🇬🇷 real food... It’s about the freshness of the ingredients, their quality and the way your food is prepared. When your brain is functioning well, you have more energy and life just gets better.⠀ ⠀ 1. Eat plenty of healthy fat. My brain worked pretty well before but embracing fat (even good saturated fats like coconut oil and MCT oil) pushed my mental clarity through the roof. ⠀ ⠀ 2. We need about 30 grams of protein per meal to build muscle. When you lose muscle, you age faster and your brain takes a huge hit! Eat protein at every meal, including omega-3 eggs, protein shakes, nut butters, or even fatty fish for breakfast.⠀ ⠀ 3. At least 75% of your plate, by volume, should be filled with colorful plant foods. These colorful super-foods come loaded with brain-boosting stuff like phytonutrients. Enjoy an array of colorful plant foods like blueberries and dark leafy greens like kale, Swiss chard, spinach, watercress, and arugula.⠀ ⠀ 4. Avoid sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, food additives, and preservatives, all of which poison your brain and disrupt your biochemistry.⠀ ⠀ 5. Exercise improves memory, learning, and concentration. It also helps to improve your mood, boost your energy, and reduce overall stress in your body and mind.⠀ ⠀ 6. Learn how to ACTIVELY relax. To engage the powerful forces of the mind on the body, you must DO something. Two of the most cleansing and purifying foods right here! Green juice and grapes. Grapes are moderately astringent and so they literally suck and pull toxic build up from the lymphatic system. The greens in the juice help to hydrate and alkalize the body, which naturally helps get rid of body aches and pains. There isn’t one thing on this planet that I feel does as good a “pick me up” than a green juice filled with cucumber, lemon, ginger, celery, cilantro and a dense leafy green like kale or wild greens (especially right now) like lambs quarters. If you want to feel your best and look your best, try to get a litre of this stuff in your body every day or every second day. Food heals, when it’s the right food.

A well-stocked fridge to us = nutritious and an efficient week. Taking the time to properly stock your fridge over the weekend, makes healthy meals throughout the week more attainable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of the important things for us when we’re buying produce is to support local farmers markets or independent grocers. This also helps to get the freshest options possible and also in season! We do our best to buy Organic whenever possible -- there are specific fruits and veggies that are especially high in pesticides and other chemicals, like berries, grapes, apples, - basically fruits with thin edible skins & also leafy veggies like kale, lettuce & celery. So we encourage you to buy these foods organic or completely avoid them. However there are a few fruits and veggies that you can get away with buying conventionally.
