Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.😃 There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn fruits.😚 Hawthorn berries are tiny fruits that grow on trees and shrubs. DIET NOT WORKING? MAYBE ITS NOT YOUR TYPE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ever felt like a particular food doesn't quite agree with you? You feel sluggish and sleepy, experience reflux, bloating, weight gain, gassy etc? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's because one man's food is another man's poison. And thus your immune system spends most of it's time fighting and processing these foods instead of keeping you from dis-ease as it was designed to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Learning about your blood type can be a healthy eating lightbulb. It took a couple of days but to start feeling the effects but it definitely got things moving. 5. Absolutely helped my digestion and gut health - stomach felt so normal which is not something I would ever say. Was it worth it? Can we all just take a moment to share the love for this beautiful lady!! Gemma is half way through her program and 5.5kg ⬇️ I had share her story with you ❤️ Gemma is a mother of twin girls who’s life is extremely busy to say the least. When Gemma reach out about starting the program she needed to reset her body, lose some unwanted kgs and boost her energy levels up. Gemma also said it can’t be hard Louise 🤣 so when I mentioned her products get delivered to her door and that the meals are simple and affordable that was ✅ Just like all us mothers we tend to put ourselves last in our family tribe, which in turn becomes more of a burden on our mental and physical shape! Who can relate to that? 🙋‍♀️ So Gemma is now 5.5 kgs down, bursting with energy, flatter tummy, clearer skin, clearer thinking, but her biggest achievement is she’s loving the education the program has offered her. We love these ‘can do’ tips from dietitian Dr Joanna McMillan on eating for a healthy gut: 💚 Try to have a plant-rich diet. This doesn’t mean you have to cut out meat, but make sure your diet has plenty of plant foods 💚 Choose foods high in whole grains and cereal fibre daily, such as whole grain and high fibre breakfast cereals 💚 Try to include legumes in at least 2-3 meals a week 💚 Snack on a daily handful of nuts or seeds 💚 Broaden the variety of plant foods you eat. This will ensure your body gets a diversity of fibres that will in turn fuel a diversity in gut bacteria. For more on gut health, check out Joanna’s new research report, The Guts of It, which summarises the science around whole grains, cereal fibre and the gut microbiome. Interesting stuff! When someone gets a blood test to determine if they are reacting to foods, they could have a lot of false positives because it’s not a true allergy. . . . What happens is that certain foods cause inflammation in the intestines which affects the smooth barrier that normally keeps things from passing through that shouldn’t. Prolonged inflammation will cause disruption of the gut barrier, allowing large substances such as food, infections, and toxins to pass through. The immune system then gets activated, creating antibodies which reacts to different foods and even our organs, which can result in autoimmune disorders. Some people will find after testing, a long list of foods to avoid that they’re left with not much that they can eat. . . . Thankfully, with new technology there is a test called myviome that looks at the health of the gut, the microbiome, pathways that are affected, and what foods to eat or avoid based off your microbiome. These foods are personalized to you to help heal the gut. They also provide a long list of super foods and foods to enjoy while you start your journey to healing your gut. . . . I believe it is best to go to where the source of the inflammation, which is the gut to determine the best foods for your body and microbiome. There are other ways to help heal the gut so I recommend follow up with a Functional Medicine practitioner to help guide you. Beyond grateful to share this EXCITING NEWS!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m so excited to join forces again with the incredible Kirsty Wirth from kulturedwellness to bring you another resource that will support you to get creative in the kitchen and rebuild your gut at the same time. We’re both obsessed with fermented foods and ensuring they can be easy and fun so you can add them into your everyday life with ease.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ But we wanted to go one step further in supporting you, your gut and your loved ones. Once the beneficial bacteria is in your gut, it needs to be nourished with prebiotics. Beneficial bacteria love to feed and flourish off lots of diverse fibres and resistant starches but it’s hard to get the required fibre and resistant starches into our diet everyday to really nurture and nourish these precious bugs and create the diversity we need for a healthy, robust gut microbiome.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ This is where our new eBook ‘nourish with DIVERSITY’ comes into the picture.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ One of the most amazing benefits of these recipes is that the majority of the ingredients are fermented. This essentially means that the sugars and carbohydrates have been reduced and the compounds in the food are pre-digested and therefore, far easier to digest so you can absorb and assimilate all the life giving nutrients from the food better.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ We have found that those who are sensitive to grains, carbohydrates, nuts, seeds, sugars and have digestion issues can successfully eat the recipes in this eBook because they are fermented. This is a huge WIN as it’s a constant battle for those who want to eat more fibre and prebiotics as they know that it’s good for them and their gut but often have painful gut distress when they do.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ In addition, all the recipes are glutenfree grainfree sugarfree lowcarb with ketogenic dairyfree and nutfree options.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Click the link in my Instagram profile to get your very own copy of our latest eBook ‘nourish with DIVERSITY’.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Happy fermenting x

So many grains! Once you fall in love with kefir and regularly make it, one issue you will face is managing the growing amount of kefir grains! Yes, when you give them love and feed them regularly, the grains will grow! Soon you will have so many grains that the milk will start fermenting in no time! What to do with the excess grains? This is one of the most common Qs I get asked.. Few thoughts.. The reason kefir attracted attention of early researchers was because the cultures that consumed kefir regularly had long lives. These folks not only drank kefir, they also ate the grains regularly. The grains themselves are highly health promoting. So, just throw few grains in your smoothie and get these benefits. Next, you can start making more kefir and use it in additional ways. You can make kefir cheese, kefir desserts (ice creams) and even consider making nut milk kefir (coconut milk is my favorite) You can also dry kefir grains, powder them and sprinkle over your food to get a bit of probiotic kick. You can always refrigerate some grains for back up or share with your friends so they also get the awesome health benefits you are experiencing! If you have pets, especially dogs, you can feed the grains to them. Finally.. you can add the grains to your compost to make it even more nutritious food for your home garden. So.. be creative and be happy that the grains are growing. It is a sign you are doing right things for your health! I took a class on Chinese Tea Fermentation in Kowloon with tea master, Ivan Chiu of Xiao Tu Tu Studio today. He's one of only a few tea Masters in Hong Kong and will be the only teacher in Hong Kong teaching history and quality of Chinese tea when he completes his courses. It was insanely informative and interesting. At the end of the lesson we played a guessing game of steep times for the same tea and steeping it 4 times but guessing the steep times for each turn to bring out the best flavor with each steep and Ivan said my cups were excellent and he was incredibly impressed. My times were 45 seconds 1st steep. 60 seconds both 2nd and 3rd and 90 seconds 4th. 🔨nailed it like a pro. . . . . ladyjaynesalchemy wholeutilization queen frontier nativefermentation fermentation spontaneousfermentation funk punk alchemy lactofermentation wildfermentation funky eeeeeats instagood microbiome feelgood schwing keepitreal healthy healthyfood guthealth flavor flavormaker yummy instayum vinegar tea teafermentation

Want to know the exact diet, Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik swears by?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eat Right for Your Blood Type!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As seen recently in Harper’s Bazaar, Shanina spills the beans on exactly HOW she maintains THAT Angels body;⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I base my diet around eating for my blood type (Type-O), which for me means more protein and not so many carbs. I'm a big meat eater, which is recommended for my blood type - it's a lot of protein and vegetables for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A typical day of eating for me would be my protein shake - it's a pre-made chocolate flavoured protein shake that I mix with filtered water - or an egg omelette with spinach. For lunch I usually have a salad with lots of greens and some protein, and then for dinner I'll have protein and vegetables again. I try not to snack a lot throughout the day, but if I do, I’ll snack on 1-2 pieces of fresh fruit that’s compliant with my blood type.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every now and then I’ll indulge but it’s rare, otherwise I’ll opt for steamed fish and a huge salad when I go out." There’s nothing more frustrating than making a big effort to change your diet in the hope of getting on top of digestive issues, only to find even healthy foods trigger your symptoms too. . This often leads to a lot of diet restrictions, as people in this situation often stick to a handful of “safe” foods. This works in terms of reducing symptoms, but it leads to nutrient deficiencies in the long run, and can make having a social life very difficult, creating anxiety around food, which can actually make digestive problems worse. . So what’s the deal? Why does your digestive system throw its toys even when faced with the healthiest of foods? . The two main reasons we react to foods are: . 💩You’re lacking enzymes required to break down that food. . 💩You have too much bacteria and/or fungi which ferments that food. . Overall, these reactions indicate some type of imbalance in the gut that needs to be corrected. We don’t just randomly develop intolerances to foods or conditions like IBS. These are just symptoms - our body letting us know something isn’t quite right. . I’m running a 5 day IBS Masterclass next week (starts 25/9), where I’ll be diving deep into what causes IBS, how you can identify your root cause, and the steps you need to take to overcome IBS for good.

There's a lot of focus on estrogen dominance out there but I'd also like to draw attention now to estrogen deficiency. Estrogen has always been seen as the "female sex hormone" however, it's incredibly important for men also, especially when it comes to libido, erectile dysfunction and spermatogenesis, and therefore should be understood by men who are experiencing these symptoms.⁣ ⁣ Estrogen plays an important role in the female reproductive system and sexual development when reaching puberty. It also has very important role all round in bone and cholesterol metabolism. So today... I had a colonoscopy. And it came back all clear !! 🎉🎉 for the longest time I’ve had a major fear of having IBD but to know I don’t have that is so relieving. I’m still in daily pain and have a lot of issues, but I’m more determined than ever now to figure out my triggers and understand my body. I can safely say the prep was one the worst things I’ve ever done but the procedure was so damn easy and the nurses I had were lovely, overall today was a total breeze with a great outcome 🥰🥰 now while I’m stuck eating plain chicken and pasta for dinner, enjoy this throwback of a yummy pasta dish I had a month ago 🤤 lowfodmap lowfodmapdiet fodmapaustralia fodmapfriendly foodintolerances guthealing guthealth glutenfree ibs ibsdiet ibsfriendly

👩‍🏫 ☝️When raw garlic cloves are crushed, chopped, or chewed, enzymes known as allinase are released. ☝️Allinase catalyses a series of reactions which produce allicin. ☝️These compounds make up many of garlic's active ingredients. ‼️The enzyme allinase can be inactivated by heat. ✅Damage may be minimised by: crushing garlic and allowing it to stand for 10 minutes before cooking. ✅Do the same with raw onions!

Have you noticed how children find joy in the simplest of things? I know as we get older we have more commitments and therefor life gets more complicated but what if just for one day we allowed ourselves to step back from “adulting” and found pleasure in the simple things again. My escape is fitness. I find huge satistaction and pleasure when I complete a workout that has challenged me and pushed me further than I thought I could go. Taking that 30-40 minutes for myself makes me function much better, it makes me a nicer person for the rest of the day. Did you know that exercising releases the same "happy endorphones" as eating chocolate? Yep, getting your sewat on makes you happier. It's is a FACT! Find something today that allows you to step back, relax and reflect on the fact that we all need to let our inner child escape from time to time and let our imaginations run free! What will you do today for yourself?

Ever heard the quote "trust your gut"? cleaner gut = cleaner mind As the post states, hundreds of millions of neurons exists in the gut. More than the spine. A neuron is a nerve cell that is the basic building block for the nervous system. They r very important because of their role in transmitting information throughout the body. Considering most neurons exists in the stomach, that is the main source for information being transported throughout the body. So how u feel, think, act, breathe and even see life is a correlation to your gut health. How you eat and treat your gut relates to how you perceive life as a whole. That is why a healthy diet and exercise is associated with happiness and serotonin. When your gut is dirty there is a lack of communication between your gut and your brain. guthealing gut guthealth gutfeeling guthealthy colon colonics coloncleanse colonhealth coloncleansing colonhydrotherapy colonics bloated bloating health healthy ibs ibdjuicecleanse juicing candida constipation gas alkalinefoods autoimmunedisease badbreath fitness fibromyalgia

Getting our micronutrients through our food is the best but let’s face it, It can be hard. Our foods nutrient value is lower than ever. You can be tested to see what nutrients you are deficient in. This could be the cause of a lot of your symptoms you’re having. But I want to know. Should I supplement if I am deficient or if Im not getting all the nutrients? Dr. Chris Kresser says, “supplement wisely and to get nutrients from food whenever possible and Whole Foods are more effective than supplements.” In his article 9 steps to perfect health-supplement wisely he mentions that most studies show multi vitamins either provide no benefit or may cause harm. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The with a multi is that they contain too little of beneficial nutrients like Magnesium, D, K2 and then too much of POTENTIALLY toxic nutrients like folic acid, calcium, iron, and E. This means that multis can actually cause nutrient imbalances that contribute to disease.” I mean literally everything can kill us. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Dr. Kresser isn’t totally against supplements but no matter how well we eat some nutrients are difficult to obtain enough through food alone. During winter months we may need to up our vitamin C for example. But to supplement selectively!!! The 5 nutrients he recommends supplementing with are: ➕vitamin D ➕vitamin A ➕vitamin K2 ➕Magnesium ➕vitamin C Finding the right supplement can be so overwhelming. I know sister. I’m looking! So when I need to know my go to gal is drsarahgottfried, she’s a Harvard trained and MIT grad and board certified gynecologist who teaches natural hormone balancing. She is all about helping women lose weight, detoxify, and feel amazing no matter your age! - - gah fan girl So as she says quality in multi will vary. So quality is key. Dr. Gottfried is a fan of multitasker. It’s packed with 13 concentrates extracts including vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. It’s scientifically tested, meets standards and i trust her. So I will be trying it out. Also need to get fiber, magnesium and fish oil. Flood your body with a good PROBIOTIC . But like I said try to get from foods too and so a good source is yogurt.

Pulled out all the tomatoes and using them as they ripen. These are the best tasting tomatoes I’ve ever grown even though it was a rough start for my plants. Unfortunately, I am not going to plant this fall. We just put an offer on a house and will know by Friday if it was accepted. Which means, we need to get our house ready to sell. I don’t think I could maintain this garden while focusing on our house so goodbye garden. 😓 Good news! If we get this house, we will have a much bigger garden and have the animals we want on our property! 🙌🏼🙏🏼
