After managing to stay on plan Saturday and ending on 4 syns, yesterday went completely wrong from lunchtime onwards 🙈 . I spent the day with my daughter at a dance competition and always find it hard, but yesterday I succumbed to chips at lunchtime, and then by the time I got home I was just too tired, and ended up with a massive bowl of cereal and some chocolates...it's done now though and today is a new day! . I've got breakfast and lunch sorted, and plenty in to cook for dinner later so no excuses! So this one is chick pea salad Serving size- 2 Recipe :- 1cup chickpeas boiled 1/2 cucumber chopped 1/2 tomato chopped 1/2 grated carrot 1/2 onion chopped(optional) 1/2 bell pepper any color chopped Coriander for garnish Tahini paste for garnish Lime juice Green garlic fresh one(optional) Sauces n spices 1tsp jalepeno hot sauce(its by Tabasco) 1tsp hot chilli sauce Salt Pepper 1tsp chilli powder 1tsp sweet paprika powder Method:- Put 1tbsp olive oil in a pan put chopped green garlic, onions, capsicum, grated carrot, saute it for a min then add jalapeno sauce, hot chilli sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, paprika, n lime juice and chickpeas.. So Beth and I decided we were going to do a thing today. Yep that’s right we ran our first 5k (apparently it was only 3 miles not 3.1 but I’m counting it) I ran the entire thing without stopping and finished in 33:09. Beth finished in 36:23 and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I’m glad the first one is behind us and we can now start setting some goals and getting better. Let's talk about FOOD. . . Food is "fuel" but it's so much more than that. Your body needs carbs, fats and proteins to function, as well as vitamins and minerals, without all of that your body would not function properly. . . But to think of food as fuel, you are thinking of your body as a car. . . Sure a car can run on cheap gas, or cheap oil, but how well does it run? Do you buy the cheap tires when you need new ones, or do you dish out? Do you use duct tape to fix it when something breaks (I'm guilty of that literally...and also wire...and silicone... ask anyone about my Cavalier) or do you go and buy the parts and repair your car? . . If you do all of these things for your car- a machine- then what are you doing for your body- a living organism that does so much for you? . . I'm no asking you to skip that starbucks coffee that you do on the reg along with that lemon tart cake, but I am asking you to think about the foods and drinks you are putting in your body, the quality of that food, and the quantity. . .
