I haven’t had a sandwich in forever. For many years I had a hard time digesting gluten. I would get the most excruciating pains in my abdomen the day after a gluten meal, it would leave me bedridden at times. — Not anymore. Healing my gut has solved so many of my issues! Though I still don’t have gluten containing foods on a regular basis, I make the occasional exception when it comes to the more nutritious foods like this traditionally made sourdough bread. — This sandwich was delicious! I get this beautiful traditionally fermented sourdough bread from a local bakery that makes its bread daily!👌🏼 So fresh and so good. Inside this beautiful sandwich is some horseradish Dijon mustard, 1/3 of an avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sweet onion, and sauerkraut. I try to be super intentional about my snacks when we are out and about. What is NOT going to spike my sugars, but also give me the carbs And hydration I need to get through a hot and humid day? I have a tricky time keeping fluid in my body, so fruit really helps my #potssyndrome! . . An off plan @aldiusa carb conscious protein bar with it. These do have fillers and not happy sweeteners for THM, but I have personally checked my blood sugar after consuming and they don’t effect me, so I count that as a win. I typically like some cleaner protein like @paleovalley grass fed beef sticks, but today was a chocolate kind of day 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️... . . Organic cotton candy grapes, because.... yum! Let’s talk about sweets cravings because we all have them (if you don’t lemme know your secret.) Sometimes you gotta just go for whatever it is you’re craving. I don’t believe in denying yourself that. But sometimes you want to hit that sweet spot in a healthier way and I’m always trying to find ways to do that. This will give your more power and energy than any supplement!⁣ ⁣ And if you really want to take supplements, don‘t take the useless stuff. You won‘t benefit from a testosterone booster. Get yourself some creatine, which could really have an impact on your strengh. It’s been a while since I’ve had a weigh-in post. Since May a lot of life stuff has been happening that’s resulted in me not exercising or moving my body for most of May, all of June and the first half of July. And I’ve also indulged in some convenience foods (hello bean and rice burrito from Del Taco). That being said, I’ve never maintained weight loss like this during such a large chunk of inactivity and not adhering strictly to a diet. Over the course of slacking these last two and a half months I have fluctuated +/- 2 lbs. from 177 to 179. I know I’m doing something right with this food. I have always been told sweet potatoes were “ better for you” than white potatoes, but is this really true? 🍠sweet potatoes have a little more fiber. 🍠 Are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C and beta-carotene. 🍠 Have a tiny bit fewer calories. 🍠 Lower on the glycemic index. 🥔Also have vitamin A, vitamin And vitamin B6 (just not as much as a sweet potato). 🥔 better source of iron and potassium. 🥔 Good source of fiber. Do you have a morning routine? My routine is most consistent on the days that I have to go into the chiropractic office(like today), and those days start with a shower to wake myself up because I'm often up before the sun, and then breakfast to get my metabolism going and that usually consists of 2 eggs, a green veg, and cheese. #dattelpralinen 🤤 Das erste Mal nun endlich Dattelpralinen / Energiebällchen selbst gemacht... und es war soooo einfach! Zutaten für ca. 20 kleine oder 14 mittelgroße Kugeln: 200 g entsteinte Datteln 90 g Haferflocken 10 g Sonnenblumenkerne 80 g Mandeln 1 EL geschrotete Leinsamen 1 TL Zimt 3 - 4 EL Wasser Datteln im warmen Wasser 15 min einweichen. Mandeln im kalten Wasser 15 min einweichen. Beides abtropfen und in einen Mixer oder Küchenmaschine geben. Leinsamen mit 2 EL Wasser vermengen. Alle Zutaten mit in den Mixer geben und solange mixen, bis alle Zutaten sich vermengt haben (ca. 2,5 min) Kugeln formen und dekorieren nach Belieben. Add in honey and garlic and whisk until combined. Add in carrots and toss to coat.  Bake in oven for 25 minutes or until carrots are fork tender. Fish Tacos ———————————————- 1-2lbs of Tilapia (or white fish of choice) *if Filets are large, slice vertically in half In a flat dish put dry ingredients: Whole wheat flour Salt Paprika or chili powder Pepper In a separate dish, Egg Wash: Approx 2-3 eggs whisked ——————————————— Dip each Tilapia piece first in the egg wash, then the flour seasoning. Place pieces on parchment paper until ready to fry. I cooked mine in the air frier of course. Lined the prepped fish pieces on two racks and sprayed with Olive Oil spray. Air fried at 390 degrees for 18 min. Rotating the racks 1/2 way through. ___________________________________ Homemade Tartar sauce: 2 tablespoons Light Mayo 1/2 tablespoon Simply Ketchup Tapatio Hot sauce to taste ———————————————- Warm Corn Tortillas Spread about 1/2 tablespoon of tartar sauce Add your cooked fish Garnish with lettuce, diced tomato,shredded cheese, and avocado.
