Sunday’s are for Sunday roast! This is a 1.5kg beef topside roast that was soooo tender. I’m terrible with cooking roast beef in the oven (overdone or too rare or just tough) so this is my go to crowd pleaser. 1.5kg topside roast, season and browned in olive oil chuck it in the slow cooker. Same pan two sliced onions, 3 cloves garlic sauté until nicely softened (crucial for good gravy). Add 2tbspn tomato paste and fry off 1 min then add 1.5 tspn all spice powder and fry until fragrant. Lastly, deglaze pan with 1litre beef stock. Add to slow cooker (it does not need to cover the beef). Throw in 4 carrots, two bay leaves and pepper. Cook on high 4-5 hrs or low for 6-7 hours. Remove beef and bay leaves and use a stick mixer to blend the jus, carrots and onions for the best gravy. No flour required! But instead of eating the classic greasy pizza that would leave me feeling bloated, gassy, and uncomfortable, I give it a healthy upgrade to keep myself feeling great! . Here’s how I upgrade my pizza: • I choose a gluten-free, veggie-based crust like @traderjoes or @caulipowered’s cauliflower crust • I skip the cheese OR add a little bit of high quality cheese • I use a marinara sauce that’s free of sugar and inflammatory oils like canola oil or soy bean oil • I choose high-quality veggie and meat toppings like sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil, broccoli, sausage, nitrate-free pepperoni, etc • Sometimes I even add a side salad so I get my dose of green veggies AND don’t eat the whole pizza 🙃 . Food for thought - we often hear of using our older vegetables in a soup or stew instead of throwing them in the bin. But what about making baked spring rolls. In these we have used cauliflower, carrot and zucchini with leftover chicken. Season with sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt and white pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and bake on 200 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes or until golden.

🥬🥦🥔🍗 Today I want to talk a little bit about CALORIE DEFICITS and fat/weight loss and what's actually healthy. _ I think most of us know by now that if you want to achieve weight loss, you have to be in a calorie deficit, i.e. eating less than the amount of energy you burn per day. This is absolutely true. But no matter what your goals are, the QUALITY of the foods that you eat matter immensely. _ And if your goal is fat loss, achieving your goal in a healthy, sustainable way matters too. _ Going on extreme restrictive diets that limit calories rarely work. Why? Because of the way restriction makes you feel. You might feel hangry and thinking about food 24/7, tired, and depressed. _ I truly feel that no matter your starting point, a steady and conservative approach to fat loss is better than trying to lose too much very quickly, only to create unhealthy habits, such as skipping meals or not getting a well-rounded balance of macronutrients — carbs, fat, and protein. _ Making sure that you're eating healthy, balanced nutrition is key, even if you're trying for a calorie deficit. For example, one of my clients started her deficit on 200 calories less per day (1800 instead of 2000), the equivalent of 1 bag of potato chips. We started by tracking her nutritional intake to the point where she learned so much about food and portions that she now eats more intuitively without having to track anymore. She checked in with me a few weeks ago and lost 20 lbs while eating delicious, nutritious foods that make her body feel good! I'm a strong believer in eating better, not necessarily less and often swapping more nutritious foods for less nutritious ones will keep you fulller longer, and feeling great! . 🥢🥡A little fake out take out tonight. 🥡🥢⁣ ⁣ I had so many veggies leftover and didn’t want to waste them! I stir fried them in sesame oil, then added @traderjoes brown rice and a few eggs. Super easy and super delicious. ⁣ ⁣ Meanwhile, I coated my salmon (I get it fresh from @thefreshmarket and it’s always AMAZING) in @soyvay low sodium teriyaki sauce. I cooked it in my air fryer for 10 minutes on 400 degrees. ⁣ ⁣ So delicious and so good for you too!! It’s tomato season and I plan on savoring every last second of it! To replicate this super easy and summery appetizer just slice up some ripe Campari tomatoes and place in a broiler-safe pan. We got home from a lovely day out far later than expected. Too late to cook the planned chicken dinner so it was a ten minute meal to the rescue. Na sobotni obiad najlepiej zrobić coś, co nie do końca sprawdza się w wersji do pracy. Po ponownym podgrzaniu po prostu nie smakuje już tak dobrze, a i zapach może lekko drażnić. Jeśli więc rybka, to najlepiej prosto z piekarnika. Dziś łosoś w towarzystwie sałatki z mango i pieczonej kalarepki. Łososia marynowałam w sosie sojowym, czosnku, czerwonej cebulce, soku z cytryny z odrobiną miodu i pieprzu. Piekłam w 180 st. C około 8 minut. Sałatka : 1/2 mango, kilka pomidorków koktajlowych, ogórek, 1/2 cukinii, 1 mała czerwona cebulka, 2 łyżki posiekanego szczypioru. Ogórka i cukinię obrałam obieraczką aby powstał makaron. Dressing pomarańczowy: sok z 1/2 pomarańczy, 3 łyżki oleju lnianego, szczypta curry, kilka kropel octu jabłkowego (może być też sok z cytryny), łyżeczka musztardy z gorczycą, sól i pieprz do smaku. 200 CAL STIR-FRY 🍜🥢🥦 . So after spending a considerably high proportion of my daily calories on home-made fudge yesterday 🙃 I wanted something low cal and high volume for dinner! . This was one of those chuck-it-in-and-see kinda meals and it turned out prettttty good and only 200 calories!!! ✅ . Ingredients for 2️⃣ servings: ⭐️ 1/4 tbsp olive oil ⭐️ 1 red pepper ⭐️ 1/2 a red onion ⭐️ 3 garlic ⭐️ 1/2 carrot ⭐️ Peas ⭐️ Broccoli ⭐️ 1 egg white ⭐️ 4 chicken sausages - I used @heckuk (any protein source would work here - chicken breast, beef, tofu, @quorn chicken pieces) ⭐️ @barenaked Konjak noodles (sold in Tesco) .
