A lot of people wonder how to do keto when you have a family at the same time. I’m not going to lie it was hard in the beginning because I kept my keto meals separate from family meals because when I first started keto I approached it as a diet like I would’ve in the past . The longer I stayed on keto the more I adopted into a lifestyle and once I began learning and understanding how carbs and sugar affects our overall health I began adopting more healthier eating for them as well. So now our meals are basically keto with protein, healthy fat and veggies but I will make rice or potatoes or some other non-keto side for them. It’s made grocery shopping and eating together as a family so much more enjoyable. Here my son is eating kobacha squash and he’s loving it!

Last night after dinner, my blood ketones were at 0.8, after fasting for 17hrs, they're at 1.6!!! So many of my keto people told me that I would be able to FEEL my body in ketosis-- so I've waited patiently to FEEL this... and 2months in, I still have no idea what they're talking about 😭 So I took the plunge and, after researching which blood ketone monitor I should invest in, I purchased the ketocoachx blood ketone meter & I love it! It helps motivate me to stay faithful in my keto journey, and brings out the scientist in me to experiment with how my body/blood ketones change in response to different foods or different lengths of fasting. Truth be told...I’m not the best at meal planning. I find myself at the grocery almost every other day and this needs to stop! . Last Sunday, for the very first time, 🤭I planned out 4 meals for the week and went shopping for those dinner ingredients and I have must say how nice it was not spending every other day at the damn grocery store!. . It’s so easy to plan out a few meals for the week and shop for those ingredients. Maybe one day I will do a little meal PREP, but for now this is such a time saver!!. . Keto Pizza Bites! I took a stab at the recipe I saw posted by ketodiet.success earlier except with my own style. I browned one pound of ground turkey (the recipe called for sausage), drained it, & mixed in 4oz of cream cheese. Mixed in 1/3c of almond flour (recipe called for coconut flour), 1/2tsp baking powder, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1.25c of shredded mozzarella cheese, 3 eggs beaten. Preheated oven to 350 & let mix chill in fridge for 10 minutes. Looking back I’d have chilled it for a few minutes longer as they still flattened out. The recipe suggests a cookie pan but I wanted to use my new muffin pan! I sprayed the pan then used an ice cream scooper and filled all twelve cups with the mix. Baked for 25 minutes which made them a bit more golden than I wanted but we live and we learn. They’re so delicious! I might want to use a sheet pan to make them smaller next time so I can enjoy more. The speed of your progression does not dictate how hard you are working, what matters is that you are putting in the effort and working towards your goals. You are allowed to make mistakes.. that is apart of the process. Stay positive and don’t be so hard on yourself. This is getting out of control. I ended up softening a stick of butter mixing it with johnnys garlic spread seasoning and putting it on parchment paper to solidify in the fridge. I figured it was time for another progress picture! 📷 I just started a new round of BBG BBGinto2020 , but this is how far my journey has gotten me this year! 🏋🏻‍♀️ After many ups and downs in the past regarding my fitness, strength, weight, and overall happiness, I walked into the year 2019 with a determined mindset, lots of motivation, a plan, and a goal - I wanted to be a happier, healthier, leaner, and stronger me by the end of the year! 💪🏼 I started Intermittent Fasting ⌚ ate a healthy and balanced diet 🥑🥗🥘🍳🍫 and participated in kayla_itsines BBG 12 week challenge 🏋🏻‍♀️ All of that changed my life! I often got up early for workouts, I worked hard, I sweat a lot, I stayed focused and strong, but I also took breaks, had rest days, and indulged in comfort foods - for me, that's "balanced living" ⚖️ and I knew that was the only way I would be able to do this long term and still see results! And as you can see, the hard work paid of!! 😃 Since January 1st I lost a total of 15,4 kg (34 lbs) 🥳 many inches, and went from a size 12 to a size 4 in clothes!!💃🏻 But far more important is everything that I gained in the process! Self-confidence, self-esteem, strength, determination, willpower, happiness, lightness, freedom, and so much more!! This journey has influenced me in so many ways and it has changed me inside and out. I am absolutely in love with the way I FEEL and that improved my quality of life so much! ❤️ Now, with the new round of BBG that I started last week, I can't wait to see what else is in store for me in the last 10 weeks of this decade!! I just know that I want to finish the year strong 💪🏼 and start into 2020 even stronger 🏋🏻‍♀️ by being my fittest, healthiest, and happiest self! 🥰

So, after debating it for a week now, I decided to let myself have as fun last night and have a cheat meal. My good friend hosted an incredible Rocky Horror Picture Show party! She turned her garage into a theater and has an incredible interactive viewing. . I drank, I ate, and I smacked myself in the face trying to learn poi in the dark 😂 . It was a good time and I regret nothing! Before I started this journey, I accepted that I am human. I will make mistakes, I will take steps back, but I will always move forward. I will not deny myself fun because of an ideal image of myself I have in my head. The scale certainly didn't look as good as I wanted it to this morning, but I know it'll go right back down now that I'm on track. No life worth living is without it's bumps, curves, ups, and downs. . Bobby's Sweet and Sticky Turkey Bolognese - Low Fat, Low Cal, Ultra High Protein - Juicy as hell 👌🏼 -------------------- 460 Cals (for half / 250g meat, big serving!) 70g Protein 32g Carbs 6g Fat ---------------------- INGREDIENTS: ---------------------- Any 1 Cal Pan Spray Turkey Breast Mince - 500g Onion - 1 Tinned Tomatoes - 1 Tin Beef Stock Pot / Cube - 1.5 Brown Sugar - 2 Tbsp Tomato Purée - 50g Low Salt Soy Sauce - 3 Tbsp Garlic Purée - 0.5 Tbsp English Mustard - 1.5 tsp Worcestershire Sauce - 3 Tbsp --------------------- INSTRUCTIONS: --------------------- 1) Fry off Mince in 1 Cal Spray - Place to side when done 2) Chop and Fry off Onion in 1 Cal Spray 3) Re-add Mince 4) Add all remaining ingredients and stir each in as you go 5) Reduce on low heat for 45 mins --------------------- How insanely easy was that?!?! .
