We always say, "No Whiskey before its time." Well friends, it's time!
We are doing a limited release of our Kelley Single Malt Whiskey for the Holidays. We have one barrel that is ready to go, and we can't wait to share this amazing product with you. It's been a very long time in the making.
On Wednesday November 27, Headframe Spirits will be releasing our first batch of Kelley Single Malt Whiskey, distilled at Headframe and made from Montana malted barley. This very special whiskey will only be available in the Tasting Room while it lasts!
Join us at 5pm on the 27th for the official release of this limited supply single malt whiskey!
Giving thanks isn't just reserved for Thanksgiving; the whole month of November is National Gratitude Month! Find a little something or someone every day to be grateful for. Studies show that practicing daily gratitude has a whole host of benefits both physical and psychological. Check out some of the research in the article below.
Jot down a couple things you are grateful for each day or tell someone how much you appreciate them, and see how your perspective changes. You might just change someone else's perspective too.
As for us at Headframe, we are grateful to be sharing our story with all of you. Thank you for supporting us from both near and far. Thank you for spreading the Butte Love and letting everyone know that It's a Big Damn Deal. Cheers!
I wish I could tell you that this is a gorgeous vacation destination. It’s not. It’s a toxic nightmare. The Berkeley Pit is the result of everything that’s wrong with capitalism that puts people and their environment last. My eyes burned moments after standing on the viewing platform from the vapors. It’s a staggering 1,000 feet deep and a mile wide, and is full of heavy metals leaching from the former copper mine. It’s not remote: it’s right in the city of Butte, Montana. Live and learn? This is not a place for “selfies” it’s an absolute tragedy the people of Butte have to come to terms with as the mining economy pushes on. + Video on my YouTube channel
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that means raising awareness and rallying action around prevention, early detection and support for women who are battling for their lives.
It is recommended that women ages 21 to 65 get a Pap smear every 3 years (or annually if you have family or personal history or abnormal Paps) and women over the age of 40 get a mammogram every year. If you haven't had yours, schedule it. Now. If you're in need of financial assistance, please contact the Montana Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program through your local health department.
Monthly self-exams are also a crucial way to detect changes in breast tissue. You're never too young to start self-exams and familiarize yourself with your body. Over 300,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the US each year. About 12,000 of those are under the age of 40.
Are you technologically savvy? There are some great apps out there that set monthly reminders and guide you through the self-check process. If you'd like some recommendations, reach out and let us know.
To breasts of all shapes and sizes and the women they are attached to, we support you!
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, we're changing up some of the plans for our Centennial Celebration. Join us starting at 2 o'clock for tours of the Pioneer Club, the Tasting Room and the Distillery. Our Production Manager will be distilling a batch of single malt during the celebration. Come on out and learn about how we make our spirits!
Dublin Gulch, the Tiernan Dancers and Christy Hays will now be playing upstairs in the Pioneer Room starting at 5:30pm.
Dish-Ability will be serving Street Tacos and Mrs Wrights Pastys will be here with Pastys in a Cup. To go with the chilly weather, we'll have a fire pit set up and we're laying in supplies for S'mores. Come hang out, grab a cocktail and roast a marshmallow. It's going to be a heck of a shindig, even if winter is trying to come early.
We've got an ask for you. We had this crazy idea to make apple brandy with the apples from Foreman's Park up at the Mountain Con. After our team picked all the apples from those trees, we realized we're a little short. The picture you see here equals about two bottles of brandy... If you have some apples or sweet crab apples growing in your yard, and don't know what to do with them, please bring them to us at the Tasting Room (Doesn't matter if they're bruised). From every bottle of brandy we can make, the proceeds will go to support Butte-Silver Bow Parks & Rec.
Thanks in advance and Cheers!
