What a Gorgeous Transformation 👏👏 - Follow ketodietbenefits for more 👈 - Three years ago I quietly began a weight loss journey that turned into more than I could have imagined. I wanted to lose weight because I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. The woman looking back at me was unfamiliar, far from the few extra pounds I thought I carried. My weight and poor self-esteem made me a prisoner to anxiety. I was miserable, and my instinctual reaction was to villainize the stranger who I saw as my enemy. “It must be her fault, she’s the reason I’m so unhappy”, I told myself. So, I set out to destroy her. I stood in front of my mirror on day one, taking pictures to document the war I was certain to wage against this uninvited intruder. But time, as it often does, pointed out the fallacies and misconceptions of my narrative. With every “good for me” choice I discovered that this woman in my reflection wasn’t a stranger. She only looked unfamiliar because of the years of neglect and self hatred heaped upon her. As the weight eased off I began setting goals and rooting for myself to reach them. I started pushing my comfort zone and doing things that made me feel alive instead of just counting down the rest of my days from a couch. I stopped focusing on shrinking myself and instead made self-love my goal. And soon, long before the weight came off, I began to see a familiar face when I caught my reflection in the mirror, and I allowed my mind to make peace with my body. In September of 2016 I started this journey to shrink my body.
