TRAINING YOUR LEGS . Suffering from lower back pain/fatigue? 🤕🔥. The Leg Press is meant to place maximal load on your quads/hams/glutes - not your low back - so let's do what we can to keep it that way. 👊🏼💪🏼 . 💡Now, some cues for this exercise with the focus on stimulating the quads are: . ✅Lock your body into a fixed position by pulling your glutes and back hard into the pad by gripping the handles tightly. ✅Place the feet lower on the platform and focus on knee flexion/extension rather than movement at the hip while applying upward intent on the platform. ✅Begin the eccentric by initiating with the working muscle. This can be accomplished by breaking at the knees first. ✅Stay in your active range of motion (AROM). The tension should be directed to the quads instead of transferring the load to ancillary muscles and joints. ✅Consciously think about squeezing muscles and integrate that into pushing the weight. . ❌ AVOID the mistake of allowing your butt to come off the pad during your set. The added ROM is not aiding in Leg growth, it's being placed on your lower back and WILL lead to injury. . 🏋🏼‍♀️ I would recommend starting with 4-5 sets of 6-8 reps, focusing on execution and keeping tension on your quads (or legs in general). Back day fueled by last nights pizza and ice cream 🍕 SWIPE 4 full workout! Lol so I haven’t been wearing my Apple Watch because I noticed it has literally imprinted itself into my skin and sometimes I feel like I depend on it to burn calories and both of those things make me feel weird! Soo yeah has anyone else noticed that with their apple or smart watch?? Anywho: -deadlifts 10-15 reps -single arm db rows **5 sets, 2 min rest (quick tip for my shorter girls, most benches are taller than my knee so when I try to do rows on them I’m lopsided af so I use my own knee for support and it puts me in a much more neutral position) . -neutral pulldowns + 3 sec neg 10 reps **5 sets, 90 second rest . -single arm cable pulldowns 8 reps each arm until failure -close grip pulldowns (from the floor) 8-10 reps **5 sets, 90 second rest #motivateyourself

L e g s continued 😈💥 . This portion of my lift felt sooooo fluid 🙌🏼😩! I am feeling a little bit more sore than usual right now 🥵🙌🏼 but I’m not complaining 😉🍑. Have fun! 💪🏻👇🏼 . ▪️Good mornings on Hack Squat Yep 👍🏻 hamstrings on fiyah! 🔥 This stretching/lengthening of the hamstrings is phenomenal 🥵. I am staying in the lengthening phase for a couple seconds before raising up (not all the way) and then immediately lowering back into the stretch. Try tilting your tailbone up towards the ceiling for an even greater ham stretch. My glutes also kick in a little as well 🤫😬 ▪️Plate Holding Sissy Squats I am holding a plate to work my quads (glutes as well). If you are uncomfortable you can also place a mat across the top of your feet and under the foot pad for more cushion. ▪️Adductor Machine Try doing this while lifting your pelvic floor (kegel🤭). I begin sitting upright and then lean back onto the back rest. ▪️Hamstring Curl Machine I perform this by curling both feet together and then alternating legs when lengthening the hamstring. Do this slowly and mindfully! Finish with curling both legs together. . . . Recently, my goals have changed a lot. I used to train mostly for aesthetics, and a little for strength, and also just because it made me feel good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But lately I’ve really changed gears, and decided to train more functionally and athletically. I’ve been so focused on lifting heavy (not a bad thing), that I lost most of my athleticism. I can’t wait to see where this style of training takes me.
