What is a sumo deadlift?
A sumo deadlift otherwise known as a wide stance deadlift is a variation of the conventional deadlift.
The lifter starts in with their arms closer to the bar, decreasing the range of motion and decreasing shear force on the lumbar spine.
Recently I have been incorporating more sumo deadlifts in my leg workouts and I have noticed it’s helping to improve my conventional deadlift too!🤩
The sumo deadlift strengthens the quads, glutes, hamstrings and other muscles of the posterior chain. This is a great exercise for building strength and muscle mass!
If you want to target your glutes, try sumo!
The wide stance places your hips in external rotation, which works the glutes to a higher degree, making this a great movement for booty growth🍑
GIVE IT A GOOO👏🏼
