SUNDAY SCARIES OR NAW?! I’m gunna go with naw. I am SO ready to get back into my routine, it’s not even funny. Resting is good and CLEARLY my body needed it but I’m literally itching to be active. I’m sure my workouts won’t be anywhere near where they have been since I literally get fatigued walking but that’s not stopping me. . . . We are on our way back from Nashville! We have about 3 more hours to go. Meanwhile I’m taking some time to read and write down some goals I have for myself in the upcoming weeks and months. Goals that will NOT be weight related. Now I know I say this time and time again but I need to get back to the basics and that means water consumption needs to increase DRASTICALLY! Any tips and tricks you got-throw em’ at me. I ATE OVER 3,000 CALORIES YESTERDAY 😱 . & the picture above was taken this morning. 🙌🏼 . A full list of the fabulous fair food I had: 🌈Fried Oreos 🌈Italian Sausage Peppers & Onions 🌈Fried Cookie Dough 🌈Cookies 🌈Alcoholic Cider 🌈Part Fried Reese-O 🌈Pimento Cheeseburger Egg Roll . & I loved EVERY minute of it. I didn’t think twice about what I was eating. I didn’t think about the calories. I didn’t think about the fat or sugar content. 👏🏼 . I used to go to the fair and seek out the “healthier” foods. Wtf - it’s the fair. It comes ONCE a year. . My point is that you have 365 days in a year. . 👉🏼1 day - 0.2% of the year I eat like this. . In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter. You won’t gain permanent weight over night! You will not get fat from one day of eating junk!!! . The goal is to make sure you regulate your body back to its well-rounded diet afterwards. How? . 💦 Drink plenty of H20 😴 Get a good nights sleep 🥦 Eat Whole Foods that will provide you the macro & micronutrients you were missing the day before 🙅🏼‍♀️ Don’t skip meals. Go right back to normal. . Is this something you want to be able to achieve? Do you crave going out for a special event, date, etc without stressing about what’s going into your body? I had a few events last weekend and ate like a mad woman. I'm glad that today I got back down to normal-ish. I was up like 6lbs Monday and wasn't happy. This morning’s shreddy session was a “booty” session and no way did I think I would be sweating so much more than I did in my sprint session yesterday! This one almost killed me off. . . I have been thinking a lot about my why lately. I am just 21 days from the end of this program and it is getting harder to keep going. I have to remind myself daily of why I am doing this. This is me, my life, my journey there is no destination, no finish line. I’m not getting ready for an event, living healthy is the event. I think in some ways it’s harder that I don’t have a finish line. I mean, this program will end, but I will keep going, so it never stops. It’s easier to commit to something that has an end point, but then you’re always just starting over again. I’m done starting over! Are you?

*not a business pic post* S W I P E Chapter 3: Loving Yourself ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think one of my biggest hurdles during this lifestyle journey is the lesson of self-love and forgiveness: past, present and future (DM me if you’ve experienced this too, would love to hear about it). The ‘Sarah’ during these three snippets of life are no better than the others. Whether it was 2 years ago, today or a decade later…in that specific moment in time I was and will be the ‘best’ me I know how. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I mean by this is back when I had my photo taken in the black suite, I thought to myself ‘oh I look pretty alright compared to before’. Fast-forward 2 years later, I cringed a little when comparing the two ⇐ and that was the problem. I was being a hypocrite to my Chapter 1 where rather than comparing myself to others, unknowingly I was comparing and judging myself to my past self. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How can I expect my 2 years ago self to look like what I do now, or my current self to look like ☓ in the future? I completely disregarded ALL the effort, knowledge, success and failures in between then and now which isn’t fair to my past self and my current self. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In contrast, I should be grateful for where I am today and love the me 2 years ago for committing to this journey. Although the me 2 years ago did not have the physical strength and knowledge, I had the will to commit. I had that fight in me to take on this challenge of becoming mentally and physically happier, and I can honestly say it’s been one of my best decisions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We are all constantly learning in life, if it takes me more than once to learn that lesson then so be it. What’s important is I’m still learning and the self-reflection that comes with it after the realization and that me is another small victory in loving my past, present and future self ♥

Back At It! 🙌 . Finally getting over my cold & getting back into a routine of some sorts! Lately, I've been really big into self care & asking myself what is it that I need right now in this moment, which is so different from my normal push through attitude. But all too often pushing through every little thing has me feeling burned out! . Seriously, ask yourself.. in this moment, what do you need? What would make you feel re-energized & more motivated or inspired? . As I asked myself how I was feeling last week, instead of pushing through the exhaustion & sickness.. I stopped & did whatever I felt like I needed right then & there. I had a lot of tea, slept in, took some amazing naps, did a whole lot of yoga & didn't worry too much about what I was eating as long as I was eating & drinking enough for my body to get healthy again. . This week I feel so much better! My cold is winding down, I'm back to my healthy food & exercise filled mornings (hallelujah!) & able to focus on the work in front of me. Self care is a real thing y'all & it's amazing what our bodies are telling us if we just stop for a hot minute & listen! Seems obvious but all too often we try to take on the world & are too busy to sit & think what it is we actually need to feel good. This app was JUST what I needed and came as exactly the right time for me. I am always so much more motivated with fitness in the Winter (crazy I know). . . This was me at 6AM (!!) this morning before heading to the gym to do my first Full Body workout! . . I got the hang of the exercises quite quickly but had to adapt a few of them as although my gym has just had a wonderful refurbishment, they haven’t replaced the barbells in the main gym so it was dumbbell skullcrushers and presses for me today! . . Today we went to my "Happy Place".... aka Cape Hillsbrough for a magical walk. I love it there! Something about that walk and that beach just lures me in. We didn't get up at the crack of dawn to witness the kangaroos on the beach.... but to is 'rest day' so the kids deserved a little sleep in! During this 60 day journey I am trying to be more present and in the moment rather than looking to the future or wonder what’s going to happen next. When we do this, we miss the beauty of what is going on around us. I find that if you spend each day being as ‘present’ as possible and making the most of simple acts and routine tasks. Life will feel brighter and you will hopefully feel more fulfilled. It’s not often what we’ve got or where we are, but our attitude to what life throws our way. Tomorrow begins day ONE of my two week body detox and I am looking forward to cleansing my body properly. It might be a struggle street at first but it is worth it. So here’s to a brand new week! Look at your small daily habits. How did my small daily habits look like, did they support my goal when I started? Not much I guess. In the beginning I ate what ever, and started with a very narrow perspective what comes to everything else as well. So maybe, don't be like me, if you can do better from the very start. Better in a way, that you do small good changes from the start. I took my eating habits into concideration after running several months. Now I look at what I have and am happy that I have found other things to support my goal. What are the small other things that you can change easily, to make it easier for yourself? It's usually not so hard to do something actually, but it's so much about the "between our ears". Now running itself has become a reward for myself. Not the protein smoothie after it. So maybe, try to look at your thinking patterns about your goal. These are just some of my thoughts. You know better, what you need. Make that important to you. You can do it.

⚠️ Life update ⚠️ . . Hey there! Sorry I have been MIA on my weight loss journey. . . May I hit my 100 pounds lost mark. Working out 5x week. July everything stopped because I was diagnosed with Kienbock disease in my right hand/wrist. This disease is rare and the end result is surgery. . . This took a toll on me because I cannot lift weights anymore. Lifting was my everything. Today, I have cut back my days at the gym to 2 or 3 days. I have enjoyed enough food to add about 5 pounds back and gain 2% body fat. . . I am only human and have learned to STOP, REST, HEAL. I have came to accept that the end body goal, end muscle goal, or end body fat goal may not happen right away. Things happen in life and it's healthy to sometimes SLOW down and ENJOY what we have.
