Especially my deadlift. I feel like I have been stuck for weeks. • Recently it dawned on me how short “weeks” actually are in the span of lifting. Looking back I remember feeling the exact same way about many different weight milestones. If I’m playing the lifelong game no need to stress weeks.🤷🏼‍♂️ it’ll come.👊🏼 • Things that can affect a plateau: are you eating enough? Recovering enough? Managing stress/sleep/hydration? Did you shorten rest times? Did you eat at a different time than normal? Maybe expenditure was unintentionally high that week? #WeightlossWednesday . . Protein bars. Powdered flavorings. Sugar-free candy. “Healthy” ice cream. These products aren’t really considered “clean”…as in, clean eating. But are they bad for you? Could they actually help you lose weight? . . Here are some considerations that can help you decide whether or not you’ll include these foods in your healthy lifestyle…and in what quantity: . . 1️⃣ Does it agree with your stomach? Or does it cause bloating, gas, discomfort, indigestion, etc? Many of these foods are highly processed and/or contain sugar alcohols…both of which can pose a potential problem for some of you (and for me). I’ve noticed that I can grab a protein bar every day, but if I ever eat two in a day, I have some digestive, um, issues. 2️⃣ Does it satisfy your craving for something sweet? Or does eating one make you want to eat another one? 3️⃣ Is it a decent substitute for legit junk food, or could you just as well eat “the real thing”? Many protein bars contain the same amount of calories as a candy bar and don’t taste nearly as good. 4️⃣ Are you eating this food in the context of a diet full of mostly whole, clean foods? As in, protein and veggies? Or are you relying on a lot of this processed, fake food to fill your calories? 5️⃣ Will eating these kinds of foods occasionally (or even daily) help make your weight loss feel less restrictive and more enjoyable? 6️⃣ Where are you on the spectrum of clean eating? Is clean eating more or less important to you than weight loss? 7️⃣ Will using these products help you consume less calories overall? . . Most people can incorporate some of these “healthy junk foods” or “macro-friendly treats” into their weight loss plan without any issues. As for me, it really depends on the product. Some products don’t set well with my stomach, some products aren’t worth the calories for me, and others are borderline addictive. . . The point is, don’t just eat something because it’s marketed as macro-friendly. Do your research, and experiment to find out what works for you. . . Product notes in the comments 👇

Banana chocolate. Name a better combo. I’ll wait.... . . @thelionschoice pulled out a banana chocolate chip limited cookie dough in May and I think I screamed when they announced it 🤩. . 🍌 flavour wise this really hit! It tasted exactly like a banana chocolate chip muffin. The banana was natural, not extract, I was super impressed with how well they executed it. 🍫 Because we’ve been going through one heatwave after the next, the chocolate chips had softened into little pools of chocolate generously and evenly distributed through the entire jar. This is definitely not lacking on mix ins! Super impressed. . 🥄 Now let’s talk texture. The Lion’s Choice doughs are usually malleable, somewhat tacky, easy to grab either with a spoon or your fingers can pinch off a piece. This one was quite different. I don’t know if they used more tapioca flour than usual perhaps 🤔 but it was hard and crumbly. Even ‘cutting’ it with the side of a spoon it didn’t hold together and ‘crumbs’ flew everywhere (and as I mentioned its been around 100 degrees so it’s definitely not because it was too cold). Lasagne soup, a hearty winters night dinner 🍝🥶 This bad boy is a simple 30 minute meal you can whip up after work, it’ll fill your soul n belly with happiness and bonus it’s made in one-pan.. we love an easy clean up 😎 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ingredients: 500g extra lean beef mince 1 onion 1-2 garlic cloves minced 1 can diced tomatoes 2 tbsp tomato paste 200ml passata 2 cups low sodium beef broth 5 sheets of @barillaaus lasagne broken into pieces Oregano Basis Thyme Chilli flakes Salt & pepper ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cook your beef & onion over med-high heat in a pot. Add in your garlic and fresh chilli (if using) until all is browned. Stir in your can of tomatoes, tomato paste, passata, beef broth and all of your herbs/salt & pepper. Leave all the flavours combine on a medium heat for 10 or so minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add in your lasagne/pasta, reduce the heat right down and let it cook for 10 more minutes or until the lasagne is al dente. 🌮Capsicum Mex Bowl!🥙⁣ ⁣ Made this up randomly yesterday afternoon, heaps of veggies to use up- ended up LOVING it!!😻⁣ ⁣ Ingredients:⁣ 🌯 120g Capsicum (for the bowl)⁣ 🌯 85g Birds Eye Mexican Veg⁣ 🌯 120g Shredded Chicken⁣ 🌯 5g Mexican Seasoning⁣ 🌯 20g Spinach⁣ 🌯 40g Avocado⁣ 🌯 60g Salsa⁣ ⁣ Method:⁣ 🌯 Cook Capsicum in water for 8 mins to soften a bit⁣ 🌯 Cook Veggies, Chicken & Seasoning in a pan⁣ 🌯 Layer the mixture on top of the capsicum⁣ 🌯 Mix avocado into guacamole and put on top⁣ 🌯 Finish with salsa ⁣ ⁣ Macros: ⁣ 370kcal⁣ 26.2g Carbs⁣ 10.3g Fat⁣ 36.2g Protein⁣ ⁣ This is so easy to alternate to fit your own macros, add rice for more carbs, cheese/sour cream for more protein/fats, no/less avocado for less fats etc 🥑⁣ ⁣ Recipes like this are a great starting point, but don’t be afraid to change it up 🍅🍍🧀🌮

HIGH PROTEIN LOW SUGAR CHUNKY CHOCO GRANOLA (another mouthful) You will need: • 3 Cups Jumbo Rolled Oats - •1/2 Cup chopped nuts of choice 🥜(I went for almonds and walnuts) — • 1 tsp Cinnamon (or any ground spice you like) • 1 Scoop of Protein Powder (I went for @bulkpowders Chocolate Whey Isolate) - • 1/2 cup Water • 1/3 Cup Maple Syrup (or Honey or Agave) • 3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil • Pinch of sea salt (brings out chocolate flavour) - • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract (not essence) - - To Make: 🥄 Put Oats and nuts in bowl 🥄 Heat gently the protein powder, water, syrup, vanilla extract, coconut oil and salt in a saucepan with a whisk until it begins to thicken and bubble slightly 🥄 Pour mixture in the oats and nut mix and combine 🥄 Spread our on a lined baking tray ensuring you still have some clumps - 🥄 Cook for about 30 mins (turn it every so often) or until crunchy and brown - 🥄 Once cooled, add in any other extras like dried fruit or dark chocolate chips 🥣 ENJOY 👅 - - PLEASE let me know if you try this out!!

Well halo there. Confession: I thought about not posting ice cream tonight. But excuse me, they don’t call it #NationalIceCreamMonth for nothing! This is my time to shine! 😂 so what we have here is a pint of good ok oatmeal cookie @halotopcreamery topped with @crunchiesfood chocolate covered strawberries, @bienasnacks cinnamon chickpeas #BeansOnIceCream 👌 and some cinnamon @flavolution seasoning 😍 It’s been and is going to continue to be a hectic week as I get ready for a long road trip Thursday night. All the craziness has me feeling some type of way but today I was reminded not to let the important things slip out of focus. That applies to every week. There’s always going to be distractions - Instagram, new tv shows, new music, memes etc. and those have their time and place but if we fill our lives completely with these things, what do we have? I’m guilty of spending too much time on these things because it’s easy. It’s easy to just be mindless and waste time away when my time could be better used connecting with people, socializing, reading the Bible, meditating, going outside in the sunshine, baking cookies for a friend. I think it’s good to regularly take a step back and see what you’re spending most of your time on and make adjustments as needed because there’s so much more to life than what we see on our phone. I set out to make copy cat buckeyes recipe like Clan Eatz & man they did NOT disappoint. I used ingredients I had on hand and the macros still turned out pretty good. Next time, I’d use a lower fat peanut butter & sugar free chocolate chips! This recipe is pretty flexible and can be changed to fit your macros!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬⁣⁣ - 2 tbsp raw honey ⁣⁣ - 256 grams (16 tbsp) peanut butter⁣⁣ - 1 tsp vanilla extract⁣⁣ - 52 grams (2 scoops) of @bowmar_nutrition protein frosted cookie or your choice vanilla ⁣⁣ - 1/2 tbsp coconut oil ⁣⁣ - 97.5 grams ( 6.5 tbsp) dark chocolate chips⁣⁣ ⁣ 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 ⁣ Mix peanut butter, honey, protein powder and vanilla extract together. Roll into 35 balls (you could definitely get 50 smaller ones to lower the macros & eat more 😜). Set tray in freezer for about 15 mins or until firm. Before you take the tray from the freezer, melt chocolate chips & coconut oil for 15 seconds increments. Make sure to stir this every time. Take a tooth pick, put the ball of Yummies on the end a dip 1/2 way into the melted chocolate. Place them on a tray with parchment paper. Freeze for 30 mins & enjoy. Suuper easy to whip together and takes about 15 minutes. For dinner I made some lasagna! I also made some 200cal protein garlic bread sticks which taste fantastic BUT I used a sweet protein powder which does not go well so I won't be eating those. My new thing is to always ask for extra P!⁣ ⁣ Protein is the hardest macro to hit while traveling or going out to eat in general. ⁣ ⁣ Portions are usually just smaller and carbs and fat can be heavy in each meal. It’s also easy to get carb and fat snacks if needed.⁣ ⁣ In between these views pretty much every meal I asked for extra X (whatever protein option that already came with the meal) and it made it so much easier to get in enough and to keep full!⁣ ⁣ Simple and effective 👍🏽

Low Carb Chicken Fried Rice Recipe! Whipped up a quick bowl of heaven and wanted to share with you guys how I made it! Tag your friend who’s low on carbs and need a high volume recipe like this to tackle that hunger! You’ll need an Air Fryer and Stove top pan! - ✅ Macros for the WHOLE Bowl: 402 Cals, 24g Carbs, 10g Fat, 54g Protein! - ✳️ Ingredients: 6oz (weighed raw) Chicken Breast 200g Riced Cauliflower 1 Large Egg 30g Brussel Sprouts 30g Green Peppers 30g White Onions 30g White Mushrooms 50g Spring Mix 50g Shredded Lettuce Sea Salt & Garlic Powder for seasoning 30g @traderjoes Reduced Guilt Guac 30g Fresh Salsa 10g Sriracha Everything Bagel Seasoning on top! - ❇️ Directions: 1️⃣ Add your sliced brussel sprouts, peppers, onions and mushrooms to your air fryer. Spray with non stick butter spray and then add sea salt to them. Cook on 400 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes until crispy. 2️⃣ Season up your chicken breast with sea salt and garlic powder. Cook on 6/10 heat on stove top pan with cover on top. Flip periodically till cooked through. 3️⃣ Once chicken is cooked, take off and add your cauliflower rice to your pan along with a whole egg. Add sea salt to them and mix together till combined. Now add your veggies from the air fryer in there and mix. Cook till you start to see some brown golden spots on the cauliflower rice. 4️⃣ Now add your lettuce and spring mix to your plate. Add your cauliflower rice mixture on top. Then slice up your chicken and add on top. Add your guac, salsa, and sriracha along with your everything bagel seasoning on top! Enjoy!
