I remember it so clearly...⠀ ⠀ Waking up every morning, taking off everything, and stepping on it...⠀ I remember the cold feeling of the glass on the bottom of my feet...⠀ And the suspense as the little zeros would spin around calculating my self worth for the day. ⠀ ⠀ If it was down I felt great, and that could mean a lot of things...⠀ "If I can just keep this up I will be X weight by X time...⠀ Or that I could feel a little less worse about myself that day...⠀ If it went up, I'd feel terrible. ⠀ ⠀ All of a sudden my clothes would feel and look tighter when I'd try things on that day. ⠀ ⠀ My negative self talk and criticism would spiral so much at times it'd paralyze me and I wouldn't want to leave the house. ⠀ ⠀ And sometimes I didn't...⠀ ⠀ I've actually cancelled plans with friends because of what the number on the scale said.⠀ I've played small and not shared my gifts with the world because of that fucking number...⠀ I've been disconnected at family functions...⠀ I've been disconnected from the world.⠀ I've starved myself to get it to change...⠀ Juice cleanse and "detoxes"...⠀ Eliminated food groups...⠀ Worked out for hours, sat in the sauna for more...⠀ Zapped my adrenals, thyroid, and hormones because of it. ⠀ ⠀ The quest for weight loss ruled my life for years, and the more I attempted to control my body and food the more food controlled me. ⠀ ⠀ Life does NOT have to be like this. ⠀ ⠀ You don't need the scale to tell you if you're good enough to live your life fully today. ⠀ ⠀ You can have a life and relationship with yourself that's fueled by freedom, grace, and ease, and you can live that life in a body you love. ⠀ ⠀ This can be done without force, will power, and restriction...⠀ ⠀ Without self criticism, guilt, and shame. ⠀ ⠀ It can be done with love in a systematic way that transforms you at your core, and shifts your behavior and brain patterns to create a new normal for yourself. ⠀ ⠀ That's where the magic happens.⠀

Do you ever worry about how much sugar is too much for your kids? After what seemed like non-stop partying this week to celebrate the end of sport seasons and school, I know my kids are feeling the effects of too much sugar.  Summer is an awesome season of FUN food. Which often includes a lot of sugar. So I wanted you to have some guidance about what's actually recommended so you can be more aware of when your kids are way over the limit. {Holidays are clearly the exception in our home...end of school is like a holiday here apparently}  Here's the scoop on the #'s:  ✅ The World Health Organization lowered it's recommendation for kids to 3 teaspoons per day, which is about 12.5 grams. (one lemonade or soda is about 39 grams, a Vitamin Water can be 32grams)  ✅American Heart Association (AHA) recommends under 6 teaspoons (25 grams) per day. (one flavored yogurt is often 5 teaspoons of sugar.)  ✅Children AND adults should consume less than 10% of their daily calories from sugar.  ✅ 4 grams of sugar = one teaspoon   So what can we do? Here's my tips for making some healthy swaps this summer. It's worth it as too much sugary food for kids early in life can lead to a lifetime of picky eating.  🌟 Try a cereal that's lower in sugar. Read those nutrition labels and compare.  🌟Instead of jam on sandwiches, use fresh fruit slices. 🌟Skip the soda/lemonade when out at dinner and instead let them get club soda with fruit added. 🌟 Instead of ice cream for dessert, serve grilled peaches or dark chocolate 🌟Keep junk food out of the house so kids learn that it's a "sometimes" food. 🌟Don't be fooled by marketing. "No added sugar" may mean artificial sweeteners are added, which can cause tummy issues in kids.  🌟Let me tell you-your kids do NOT need sugar filled drinks to stay hydrated. 4 years ago I started on my jounry to lose the baby weight. I was up late one night in November feeding my 6 month old. I saw this infomercial for a yoga/strength training workout you did at home. Getting to the gym with a 6 month old, latenight feedings and working full time and some overtime wasn't gonna happen! Things were kinda tight then, our condo fees went up, our electric bill sky rocketed because our heat was well, electricity. I couldn't justify spending $160.00 on myself. So I asked for the DVDs for christmas! I started January 2016. 30 minutes a day 5 times a week. A realistic meal plan where I could eat real food. I LOST 30 POUNDS! It was SO easy and fun too! The baby weight was gone. I did another round and lost another 30 pounds! 60 pounds in 4 months! So I saw another program, a hip hop dance program, I HAD to have it. When I bought it, I also signed up as a coach. WHY would I keep this secret to myself! The programs work, when you put in the work! I love helping people change there lives for the healthiest. Alright - today’s chat is CARBS ... the enemy apparently! When girls contact me for a consult! I always ask for a rough 3 day diary of eating .... and guess what most of the time -NO CARBS!!! But yet not getting any results and training flat out!!! So clearly what you are doing is not working for you true? But then trying to introduce carbs is an absolute no and a freak out! Im sorry all my plans have carbs in them and I don’t do unbalanced meal plans or fkn whatever other bullshit diet there is out there. I just do balanced flexible sustainable plans. So if you don’t want to eat carbs I’m sorry I cannot help you....I could write you a plan I don’t agree on and take ya money but I have a full time job so this isn’t my primary source of income and I don’t want the headfk, I purely just enjoy helping people. I honestly believe half the time when people eliminate things out of their diet and self diagnose themselves they just create unnecessary intolerances. Most of the time the girls who I see who are scared to eat carbs purely just have a bad relationship with food because of what they hear and see with all that overload of information out there. Like keep it simple- your body needs all the macro nutrients which are proteins fats and carbs.... another good one I heard the other week was “ oh I don’t need protein Cos I don’t go to the gym” yes you fkn do!!!! Ya need them all gf 🤦🏻‍♀️ so back to the carbs, not only does your body need carbs to provide energy to cells etc but fuck like do you really want a life without carbs? You never wanna go and eat out Cos oh carbs..... carbs are in bloody everything. You have 1 life eat the damn carbs 🙄 Of course they need to be controlled dependant on what your goals are.... but it’s not the carbs that will make you fat it’s the extra calories consumed that will make you fat! So if you want a balanced sustainable plan that you can actually stick to and not need to closet eat Cos deprived then see me if not have a great time eating celery and lettuce like a little rabbit hahaha look that’s all I could think of , ya get the gist yeh 😂

So here's your reminder to treat yo'self this week (with THIS) . makes about 4 servings Ingredients: 6 packed cups baby spinch 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced 1 large avocado, diced 1/3 cup assiago cheese, grated 1/3 cup chopped pecans Homemade Honey Lime Dressing: 4 Tbsps high quality olive oil 3 fresh limes, juiced zest of 1 lime 1 Tbsp raw honey 1-2 fresh garlic cloves, minced pinch of sea salt and pepper, or more to taste Instructions: In a small mason jar add all dressing ingredients. Place the lid on and shake to emulsify, OR simply whisk ingredients. In a large bowl, combine baby spinach, strawberries, avocado, feta cheese, and pecans as shown. Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat. When they say eat according to your goals, it's true! Everyone's goals are different, therefore everyone's nutrition programs will be different. Here is a glimpse of what I eat on a daily: • Meal 1 - Herbalife Post workout Shake • Meal 2 - English muffin with PB & berries & Herbalife Tea • Meal 3 - Herbalife Meal Protein Shake • Meal 4 - Yogurt with berries & Herbalife Tea • Meal 5 - Animal protein, 1-2cups of veggies, (sometimes 1-2TBSP of grains) • Meal 6 - ( Optional ) Herbalife pancakes My Nutrition Program allows me to be lenient with foods I consume however I still have to be aware of what I'm taking in (some foods may seem to be good for you but really aren't so good for you). I'm going on 4 years of following this program and I must say it's the easiest system I've ever done. But what I absolutely LOVE the most about this program is I don't have to WORRY when the holidays come around. This program allows me to still eat the foods I love (in moderation of course) without the guilt, bloating, or gain of unwanted pounds. My menu changes every week but one thing that doesn't change are my shakes and tea. If you would like to try a customized system to see if this is something that will work for you HMU. Go back to some homemade dishes picture. Especially after this huge burger 😋 . As a yo-yo I swap my dieting from low carb as flexible diet based on deficit calories for my weight/fat loss. The low carb one was too strong for me, screwed my mind and lead me to several bulimia crisis. To fight the beast I give me a personal challenge. I finally bought some crumpets to fight my low carb quest too. 6 crumpets in a package. Not more than one every too days. If I succes it’s a new victory against the beast. Being a sweet tooth doesn’t help of course. 🦹‍♂️ . For my first of the week and bring some joy on my daily white omelette turkey mince mushrooms breakfast, I add a crumpet nest fried egg with can 🍳Un régal 😋
