✨What a great experience! 🌾
I had the chance for the past few days to work closely with our farm workers in ca and az helping them with their insurance needs. I have a whole new respect and admiration for all of them from the 18yr old kid with hopes and dreams, to the 70yr old grandpa that considers work his life! The way they work and provide for their families! That is hard work and sacrifice. 🌾
▪️Approximately 73% of farmworkers are immigrants, the overwhelming majority from Mexico.
▪️They are young, averaging about 31 years of age.
▪️ Many farm workers arrive with solid agricultural skills firmly grounded in practical experience and working knowledge of agriculture. This expertise is complemented by a strong work ethic, deeply rooted in their commitment to provide for their families or make it on their own.
▪️ In many ways, Migrant farm workers work in settings that do not mirror those of the majority of the nation’s working populace.
▪️ In spite of challenges, for many the hopes and dreams of making more money in the U.S than in their countries of origin is enough to drive them to make this enormous sacrifice.
