Fresh herbs galore!🌱 —— I encourage everyone to have some fresh herb planters on their deck, patio, balcony or windowsill because they add such fantastic flavours to meals.🤗 —— I leave the gardening up to my mom because I do not have a green thumb.🤦‍♀️ I do love to pick and eat the veggies though!🥒 —— We have a huge vegetable garden every year with tons of vegetables, but we also always have tons of planters on the deck with almost every herb.🌿 —— Basil, rosemary, chives, mint (mojito mint and chocolate mint), thyme, parsley, dill, am I missing anything?!😅 —— It’s so easy to just snip some fresh herbs off of the planter and add some to basically any dish. —— Not to mention that herbs are a fantastic way to increase the flavour of something without having to add a lot of salt. So if you’re trying to cut down on your sodium intake, try cooking with herbs!🌱 —— TIP: if a recipe calls for a dried herb, you can normally use three times as much of the fresh version. For example: 1 tsp dried thyme = 1 tbsp fresh thyme (there’s 3 tsp in 1 tbsp). The dried version is just more potent. —— Meal ideas to add herbs to🌱: -scrambled eggs/omelette -rice/barley -vinaigrette -fish/chicken seasoning -sliced tomatoes -soup -pasta -meatballs -smoothies/water -seriously anything!

I’ve been on a high for the last week and then... reality hit a little last night that it’s not always going to be THAT GOOD. 👹😬 I got in an argument, my son 💩 in the bath tub and I didn’t get to finish 2 really important things that I wanted to. Oh hello Universe, thanks for that quick reminder it ain’t always perf. On top of that, today was going to be the FIRST DAY that I got up at 6:45 to workout and guess what? Didn’t happen. 😫 I didn’t fall asleep until 1:20am and I 100% refuse to burn myself out without sleep. I have made sleep and self care a huge priority so rather than getting all down on myself, I reminded myself that tomorrow is another morning and I didn’t FAIL. My goals are just delayed. 😻 You ever feel like you are failing? Yeah, me too. I have felt those feelings BIG TIME before and right now my mantra is just that it hasn’t happened YET! So hopefully that reminder helps you too. I woke up thinking about how silly me getting mad was about being mad 😂 I woke up ready to tackle this new day because yesterday is gone and today I can do better! Can I just say how THANKFUL I am to have a fitness routine that brings me soo much JOY?! Although I missed my 6:45a workout, I’m ready for my 2:30pm workout like it’s MY JOB! Cos it is!

Sprouting, or germination, of several plant foods (whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and vegetables) has been found to produce many nutritional benefits. This process breaks down starch and anti-nutrient content; increasing nutritive value and enhancing digestibility. . For example, phytate (major storage form of phosphorous in mature grains and legumes) is a highly concentrated anti-nutrient in plant foods that decreases nutrient bioavailability by binding to several minerals including zinc, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and copper, preventing their absorption in the body. Hello Saturday! Strawberries and lantana. A garden brings so much beauty to life. Enjoying immensely to have more space to have friends over, art on the walls, herbs surrounding the house. 🌿🌿🌿 We haven’t plant them yet, but the rosemary and lavender plants seem happy and are starting to share their magic scents. They smell so good when one walks near them. 🌿🌿🌿 Now would like to find roses for a mini rose garden and possibly a pomegranate, and lemon tree for the sun room. These were the plants we saw at Aristotle’s Lyceum in Athens and I haven’t forgotten their beauty since then. The sun room is where I work, exercise and soon will have my books. A place for the body and mind. Because life is busy and moments doing something pleasurable and nice are the most important. Ahh! ...
