Try this healthy recipe for Tex Mex breakfast casserole! INGREDIENTS: 14.5 ounce can diced potatoes, or 1 3/4 cups diced cooked potatoes 2 links cooked chorizo sausage, diced (3 1/2 ounces) 2 cans, 4.5 ounces chopped green chiles, undrained 2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese 12 large eggs 1/2 cup chopped scallions 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt such as Adobo 1 jalapeno, sliced thin 4 ounces 1 small haas avocado, sliced 1 cup chunky mild salsa INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Spray a 3-qt (9” x 13”) oblong glass Pyrex baking dish with cooking spray. 2. Place the potatoes in the baking dish. Top with chorizo, green chiles and 1 cup of the cheese. 3. In medium bowl, beat eggs, scallions and seasoning salt with a whisk until well blended. Pour over potato mixture. 4. Cover with lid and refrigerate overnight, if preparing the night before. 5. When ready to bake, remove from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. 6. Pre-heat the oven to 325°F. 7. Bake uncovered 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. 8. Remove from the oven, top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and jalapeno slices. 9. Bake 2 more minutes, until the cheese melts. To serve, cut into 10 squares and serve with salsa and avocado. . https://whyweight.tv

🍎 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗱 (𝗦ü𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗰𝗿è𝗺𝗲) 🇨🇭 🍎 More Swiss cuisine on the menu, as I'm presenting my second dish for the swissfooddiscovery - a very traditional apple cider custard from Thurgau. Thurgau, a canton in the east of Switzerland, has an extensive fruit growing tradition and hosts more than two thirds of the domestic apple orchards. This light and airy dessert is a true autumn celebration of freshly pressed apple cider. In my version, the custard is paired with an apple cider reduction and multigrain crumbles. 🍎
Solve 2 tbsp cornstarch in 50 ml apple cider. Add another 450 ml apple cider, 50 g sugar, 3 eggs and the juice of one lemon. Allow to thicken on medium heat. Be sure to stir constantly, or you'll end up with scrambled eggs. Strain through a sieve, cover the surface with cling film and leave to cool completely in the fridge. Gently fold in 100 ml whipped cream.
🍎 Reduce 200 ml apple cider with 30 g sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon until sticky. Allow to cool somewhat. 🍎
Lightly caramelize 50 g sugar in 75 g butter. Add 150 ml wheat, oat, barley, spelt and millet flakes and 50 g ground hazelnuts. 🍎
Serve the custard and reduction on some crumble. Decorate with chrysanthemum petals. 🍎

Chaque année, j'attends les mois d'août et septembre pour les retrouver et en profiter un maximum. Blanches ou vertes, pleines de bons vitamines et minéraux et très peu calorique, elles se dégustent autant en plat salé que sucré. A ce propos, avez-vous déjà goûté ma recette de poulet aux figues? Pour 4 personnes : • 4 blancs de poulets • 4 figues fraîches en morceaux • Huile d’olive • Amandes effilées Faites cuire des blancs de poulet 5 min de chaque côté dans une poêle anti-adhésive. Dans le même temps, faites poêler dans un peu d’huile des figues émincées finement et faites dorer des amandes effilées sous le gril du four. Salez, poivrez et servez le poulet avec les figues. Parsemez d’amandes. PS : cela marche bien aussi avec des abricots ou avec des raisins secs. Last night I added two more cookbooks to my collection at the book launch lrbbookshop of the very talented catherinephipps and mark_diacono new books. (In the photograph they are holding each other’s books!) Catherine’s book Leaf-lettuce, greens, herbs, weeds celebrates varied versatile leaves in over 120 recipes. Mark’s book Sour the story is told of what makes things sour, and recipes ‘that maximise the power of this enduring taste.’ At the event we sampled delicious canapés made from recipes in the books. I am looking forward to using the books back in Bristol. This morning when I woke up I had not idea where I was! I am testing out the new airbed by daughter has bought for my London visits and I am pleased to report it was very comfortable indeed! If you are stepping on the scales everyday and judging it on a day-to-day basis, progress will look slow. You’ll probably be unhappy if at the 3-week mark you stayed the same as the 2-week-and-6-day-mark. Make sure you are tracking trends over the course of your journey.
