Let’s talk protein shakes for a minute. I just listened to a talk from @ritarogersco about shakes/smoothies (you should go check out her page). It was so interesting and got me thinking. I don’t do a lot of smoothies but I do some protein shakes (mostly during the summer). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In my head it works like this: smoothie: fruits & veggies/shake: protein supplement, peanut butter & cocoa. AND never the two shall meet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After listening to her talk and looking at her recipes, I saw that she put spinach in with peanut butter & I thought, “huh.... maybe I should try that?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I decided to throw a bunch of spinach in my protein shake & it was great! Happy Friday, friends! I thought it would be fun to do a round of Friday Favorites today. Here are a few things I’ve been loving lately: 1. Smoothies - can’t get enough, especially with the hot weather. My Empowered Together Coaching Club’s July challenge is summer smoothies + salads, and it’s definitely keeping us all consistent with getting our fruits and veggies in! This chocolate cherry is my fave these days - recipe in the comments! 2. My teal trainers from @nobullproject - Nobull is one of the shops at @atthecurrent in @seaportbos, and they kindly gave @fueled.physique + me a pair to wear during our Soul Sista Summit. They are comfy and so fun! 3. Workouts from @expectingandempowered - I especially love their focus on flexibility and pelvic floor work. I’ve been weaving their stuff into my workouts and so grateful for it! Highly recommend all moms and moms to be get their guide + follow their Insta! 4. Seedlip- my friend @boland.km recommended to me! It’s what I’ve been using to make my mocktails this summer - really yummy with seltzer, homemade simple syrup, cucumber, lime, and mint! @seedlipdrinks 5. New favorite protein bar - @wickedprotein ! This was another product donated for the Soul Sista Summit. They have more protein, less sugar, and fewer calories than several of the leading protein snack bars do. Definitely feeling all the smoothie vibes with the heat this week! ☀️ This is a remake of one of my fave smoothies from @tropicalsmoothiecafe called Health Nut. It’s loaded with lots of frozen fruit so it’s got awesome texture and the flavor is 💯💯💯 . Here’s what’s in it: • 1/2 frozen banana • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries • 1/2 cup frozen mango • 1 scoop (about 2 tbsp) vanilla protein powder • 1 tbsp almond butter • 3/4 cup of almond milk To make: Blend, top with topping of choice and enjoy! .
