While part of me is tempted to see this as an increase from last week (and it technically is by 0.2lbs), I really don’t feel that way.
I’ve been weighing in almost daily during tightertogether (I don’t normally do that, but with this challenge I wanted to know exactly how a specific workout or high carb day was affecting me). Since last week was hypertrophy week, I knew I was building muscle 💪🏻, and I saw the scale increase to 252.8 over the weekend.
There was a time when that would have ruined me mentally and emotionally. But I’m so happy that today I can say that is not the case. If I’ve learned anything it’s that consistency is key! After a high carb day and a heavy leg day, yeah, the number is probably going to be higher. The great thing about today’s weigh in is that it shows that this process is working.
Have I magically lost 10 pounds during this challenge? No. But I’m down 4 in 16 days and that’s nothing to frown about! While I know that overall I still need to decrease the number on the scale, it’s so nice to be in a place where I’m not beating myself up about it. I know I’m taking the right steps to be strong and healthy and at this point, all I can do is wait and let the scale catch up. 😉
