In group tonight I reread one of my consultant's laminates on some of the extra tools that Slimming World offers to get you to tackle some of the emotional reasons that have led our relationship with food to be less optimal, and something that laminate really struck a chord with me today... I've always known about 'flexible Syns' but it wasn't until today that I realised just how important they were in my journey.
I've always been one for quite right controls, and sometimes this doesn't always play in my favour... I don't do cheat nights, I count everything I can and get against the app, but that does add to the pressure and it's easy to get a bit number obsessed. So this last weekend I knew i wasn't going to be 'on plan' with Ikea, Fathers Day and a Beer Festival all in the plans, so I gave myself the right to enjoy all of the events. I set myself a limit - one cider, a couple of slices if pizza, only 10 meatballs rather than 15, a coffee over a milkshake... and I think this freedom resulted in a good loss this week. Now my next award is within touching distance!
