I make both the night before, refrigerate the egg salad, and just wrap the bacon in paper towel and place it in a sandwich bag; no refrigeration needed and it stays delicious and crispy. WEEK 3 OF MY HEALTHY COOKING ON A BUDGET & EXERCISE COURSE ! ✨😃 • • This is the first time I’ve ran this course and I’m extremely excited. Our learners have all come for different reasons; whether that’s to increase their weekly exercise activity, to lose and manage their weight or even to prevent their prediabetes diagnosis and try new foods! • • Today in our cooking class we focused on how we can use one type of grain in three different ways. This is a great way to use up ‘bits and pieces’ in your cupboard and reduce waste. We made three rice based dishes that all tasted completely different and each had different nutrients and benefits. Purposely, I didn’t buy everything on the ingredients list so we experimented with swapping things out and leaving some things out- the idea being to use what we already have, instead of buying more! The ingredients came up to just shy of £10 and everyone had leftovers to bring home. 👍🏼Healthy doesn’t mean expensive if you shop smart! • Recipes: Biryani rice, spicy traffic light rice (great for kids) and a delicious veggie risotto! I dedicate this morning’s effort to @haydnddpy! Last night as I was going to bed I really didn’t feel like getting up early and walking today. I decided to put Stand Up 2.0 on my program for today and do it first things when I woke up. I decided to #dosomething! I got up early this morning, did the workout, then decided to do a little more and add Energy 2.0, so I did. And as I wrapped up around an hour of @ddpyoga, I decided to go on a light walk. Just then my little guy Abel came walking out in his pajamas. I told him I was going for a quick walk, and asked if he’d like for me to turn him on some tv. He just said, “I wanna go walk with you.” He melted my heart. My son would rather wake up and go on a walk with his daddy then watch cartoons! So we did, we went and walked for nearly 3/4 of a mile together. And he picked flowers to bring back to his mommy and the girls. He’s the sweetest person I know! Thank you Haydn for the motivation! 💦HIIT Circuit💦 . . I got votes for almost every workout that I asked about, so today is HIIT! This one can be done without any real equipment and just about anywhere - why I recorded in two different rooms 👌🏻Here’s how it goes: . . ▪️Box Jumps ▪️Burpees ▪️Jump Rope ▪️Bench hops . . Go through each exercise for 45 seconds, rest for 10 to 15 seconds and then move onto the next one. Repeat circuit for 3-4 rounds! If you are just starting out, rest one minute in between rounds. If you are used to higher intensity workouts, you could eliminate the rest period altogether! . . . Let me know what you think!! 🤯The cycle of weight gain trap that I see so many women fall into. - Yes calories count and you need to be in a consistent calorie deficit to lose fat and weight, science has proven this over and over again - basic thermodynamics. - However - skipping meals is NOT the way to go. You see when your body thinks it’s starving it holds onto fat - the opposite of what you’re trying to achieve. - This problem is then compounded by over eating and making bad food choices when you finally do allow yourself to eat - because you’re ravenous. - Before you know it you’re putting on pounds, not shedding them. - To lose weight, thrive and be healthy you need do the opposite of this flawed strategy. - 💚🌱You need to eat often - and this is why a whole food plant based diet is your best friend when it comes to weight loss. Whole foods are generally low in calorie density - imagine a chunky bowl of salad V’s 2 tablespoons of olive oil - same calories but one leaves you feeling full and energized - the other doesn’t get you very far at all. - 1600 calories for example is a lot of food on a plant based diet. Today is the day, I hit my half goal marker! 25lbs down and 25 more to go!🎉 10+inches gone as well. #nonscalevictory. I started this journey off and on last year. December 20th,2018 I fully committed. I am not saying I didn’t skip the gym or have one to many cheat meals but I always came right back and tried harder. These are my results! • Just keep in mind prior to this I wasn’t eating “that bad” and I worked out pretty consistently. Having #PCOS can make it feel like this is impossible to achieve. Though I don’t feel a whole lot different I was expecting 25lbs to look like a lot more than it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am excited to see my body transform with these next 25lbs! I have to be happy with myself and what I have achieved this far to reach the next steps in my journey! So, half way to the first large goal!👏🏻💪🏼

Wholegrain Mee Goreng _ I’ve been enjoying cooking typical Asian meals recently. I discovered lovely ingredients as a substitute to the normal ingredient just like using Wholegrain Hokkien Mee (or yellow mee) from @kangkangnoodles . I also used Liquid Amino (Available At NTUC) as a substitute to Light Soya Sauce and Coconut Nectar as a substitute to Sugar. HOW MUCH WEIGHT SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO LOSE IN A WEEK? Although it all depends on your body fat percentage and muscle mass I'd say 2 pounds of body fat a week is just on a healthy level. It doesn't mean you will lose weight on your scales though You may actually put on weight on scales and still lose body fat and still be able to tell your clothes fit better and that your waist and hips are shrinking. Lets make something clear. You don't get definition on your stomach by gaining fat only by losing the fat that covers your muscles. If you look at pictures of my client and check out her weight progress its all clear that sometimes leaner doesn't mean lighter. Scales tell you nothing that's why on my Nutrition Programme my clients take 3 different measurements regularly . If you don't lose weight on scales but your measurements are smaller every week and your skin and body looks different weight doesn't matter. Sometimes eating more carbs can make you heavier on scales but if you stay on your calorie deficit you will still lose body fat. So train at least 3 times a week, eat balanced diet and stop obsessing over numbers on scales and enjoy your fit body.
