I have to say I pretty much live in my puffer jacket... but not that kind of covering up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've mastered the art of covering up how I am doing.. like as a person.. on the inside. In my teens and twenties, as a bubbly high functioning extrovert no one could see I was dying on the inside. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I spent these years bouncing from mental health day to mental health day, anxious and depressed. I was medicated for depression, anxiety and pain, I slept an awful lot, wasn't all that active and didn't really know how to care for me and you know what? Hardly anyone knew.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I thought I wanted it that way. I follow evidence based practitioners so don’t see a lot of this #nutribollocks So here’s 10 tips for today 1️⃣this article is rubbish 2️⃣if it sounds too good to be true, it is 3️⃣ just because they have abs and a lot of followers doesn’t mean they know what they’re talking about 4️⃣you aren’t gaining fat because you don’t eat enough (there’s no such thing as starvation mode) 5️⃣you can eat ALL foods and lose weight/fat 6️⃣you may have gained weight but you didn’t gain fat overnight 7️⃣exercise only plays a small role in overall calorie expenditure and therefore fat loss. I have loose skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pregnancy & the weight gain & the weight loss rollercoaster left me with loose skin under my arms, on my lower back, and around my abdomen AND a buttload of stretch marks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had stretch marks when I was a teen from weight gain starting in middle school. I remember starving myself when I was around 17 so I’d be prettier. When I hit 130, I didn’t feel prettier. I now know it was deeper than looks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was 200 lbs when I got pregnant with my first child and 258 lbs when I delivered my 9 lb 12 oz baby girl. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Diet pills & fad diets ruled my life for the next decade. During that time, thyroid disease snuck into my life. I felt like I was a chameleon, morphing into different people, because sometimes I’d look good and then sometimes I was a hot mess. I couldn’t control it! Whatever IT was! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Near the end of 2016, I started a program. Well, I kind of toyed with it. You see, YOU HESITATE WHEN YOU’RE OVERWHELMED AND DONT KNOW WHERE TO START. I messed around with nutrition and working out in 2017, taking baby steps, and then I was on fire in 2018 and I’ve been on fire since. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The skin doesn’t bother me anymore. I’m fabulous! I’m strong! I’m capable! I’m 43 and look the best and feel the best I ever have. If only knew then what I know now, right? Have you ever heard negative feedback, criticism or unkind words and began to believe it was true? . I was hiking with my friend in Malibu and we had this enlightened discussion about coaching (we’re both coaches) and how detrimental it can be, to hire or even follow the wrong coach, guide, therapist, psychic, medium, influencer... . If one of those "experts" determines we need help or have something wrong with us, our negative mind will quickly begin to own this belief as its truth and create it as our reality. . It’s a tricky space to give someone power over you. I always, always tell my clients, you have to listen to yourself first. I teach them how to hear their inner guidance and how to trust it, while we build their belief in themselves. . Don't buy into someone else's negative picture of you. You are perfect. There is nothing wrong with you, and everything right with you. You must believe that before you can truly reach your goals. 🙌 . I have never been a morning person especially on Mondays!! But as I am growing and learning what true self care is for me, I realize the importance of my morning routine especially on Mondays!!! 💫 I am waking up in a hotel this morning and having the opportunity to be leisurely. The thought of just laying in bed surfing social media seemed so appealing, but then I thought about what would that do for me? Would it give me energy-Nope. Would it set a good mood for the day-Nope. Would it give me the fuel to be my best self today-big No! This is the famous pumpkin and cake mix that everyone is talking about. I've never tried it because I don't like pumpkin ... At all. But I was in need of something cake like so I mixed one box of sugar-free vanilla cake mix, one can of pumpkin puree, one tablespoon of almond extract, one tablespoon of vanilla extract and one egg. Baked at 350 for 30 minutes. Next I poked holes with a fork in the cake and poured a little bit of unsweetened almond milk mixed with vanilla extract over the top to make it very moist. Served with some fat-free reddi whip and sugar free caramel and bananas. Mair has just completed our 6 week challenge and lost over 1/2 a stone. I should add, she went on holiday in the middle of this 6 weeks. She had previously “tried everything” and was left feeling “frustrated” She was unhappy with her stomach and really wanted to feel more comfortable and confident in her clothes and see some results that all her hard work in the gym deserved. She now has a much better understanding about nutrition, understands that she can eat and drink what she wants and still knows how to get results. LATE NIGHT SNACKING You know the type, sat in front of the tv watching killing eve or love island and some picking out of a family pack. Before you know it, the whole pack is gone! If it’s there, it’s likely it’ll get eaten. No-one ever had a couple of squares out of a bar of chocolate and got up to put it back in the fridge. Right? 😳 This is a quick way to send you over your calorie needs and when done regularly will lead to slow fat gain. So here’s some tips: 1️⃣ use small cutlery, bowls, plates etc and take a small portion - in this picture I’ve used one of Isla’s bowls (my 23 month old daughter!) AND then I placed the large bag of popcorn out of reach in the kitchen. This kept my portion under 100 cals and meant it was too much effort for me to want to go get more. 2️⃣ instead of buying big family packs/sharing bags, buy the smaller versions or multipack options. 3️⃣ make lower calorie swaps where possible e.g. frozen yoghurt for ice cream. Alzheimers Society cycle shorts arrived today 💝 ⁣ Delayed reward for reaching £1000 sponsorship for a 100 mile bike ride last year in memory of my nan.⁣ ⁣ The official ride got cancelled (I did the route with my dad a week later) and I got to transfer onto RideLondon instead.⁣ ⁣ Now these can be worn cycling past Buckingham palace in a few weeks time, which nan would have been very impressed with 👑⁣ ⁣ Having seen the impact of dementia close hand, helping people avoid it is something I care a hell of a lot about.⁣ ⁣ The top two ways to reduce your risk of dementia, as listed on the Alzheimer's society website:⁣ ⁣ ➡️ Regular physical activity⁣ ⁣ ➡️ A healthy balanced diet⁣ ⁣ There are simple steps you can take in both those areas that can kick start change and potentially add years to your life.⁣ ⁣ And they can be fun, empowering and very rewarding when done in a way that works for you.⁣ ⁣ If you need any guidance or support or just an idea of where to start, drop me a message and I'll always be happy to help. ⁣ ⁣ ❤

I get it anti-diet culture as in not tracking and obsessing over the numbers is good for some people. Those with disordered eating etc. I don’t agree that you can’t love yourself if you’re trying to lose weight or your doing those things. Overeating, eating more than you need will lead to fat gain. It will make you feel sluggish and bloated. Can eventually lead to health complications. And if you’re obese and already running the risk of these health issues... Well, surely doing something about it, educating yourself on calories and portion sizes through tracking. Seeking help with weight control. If you’re actually only eating that much you will be losing fat. Unless you are tiny! Like really tiny. And didn’t move at all. If you’re tracking. May be try weighing your food for a few days to check. Try tracking prospectively, just before you eat. I can barely remember what I ate a few hours ago let alone a whole day of food. Research shows even registered dieticians under-report. You’re not lying or doing it on purpose (may be you are), but it’s hard to calculate your caloric intake accurately. Or don’t track. Be honest with yourself. And say actually I’m probably eating more than I think so may be I could: 1️⃣reduce portion sizes. 2️⃣ increase protein and fibre, especially veg intake to make me fuller for longer. 3️⃣drink more water. 4️⃣recognise that those hunger pangs are ok, nothing bad will happen and you don’t always have to to eat. 5️⃣be aware of eating habits and food environment. Place highly calorific foods out of reach and out of sight and avoid eating whilst distracted. As well as avoiding big family packs etc. #fatlosstips #fatlosscoach #weightlossforlife #results

Smoothies are quick to make and you can get a good portion of fruits and or vegetables into a serving. I use frozen fruits and vegetables (with no added sugar- the ingredients on the bag should only list fruits/vegetables nothing else-you can also freeze your own) that way the smoothie is nice and cold and thick without having to add ice. Here is a recipe for one of my faves. Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie: A handful of frozen strawberry kiwi mix 1/4 cup organic vanilla yogurt 1 scoop Natural Nutralean 1/4 cup or so of Water 1 tbsp chia seeds Mix in the blender and enjoy! 😋 #smoothie #nutraleanprotein #amandacovill #weightlossforlife

@morganbex1 👏 👏 👏 Bo had been regularly training and tracking her weight and body fat, but was getting frustrated at not seeing results. She would restrict or eat what she thought was right, enjoy her weekends and was not getting where she wanted. Fast forward 3 months - Unbelievable results and progress. She is almost back to the shape she was in before having her beautiful little girl Lottie 😲 After 3months Bo has dropped 10% body fat, and approx. 9kg of fat. That’s about a stone and a half.
