Weight update! I thought I hit a low when my weight got over 200 lbs. I've struggled for a long time with my weight my entire life. I became obsessed with finding and trying anything that would help me lose weight, including dangerous methods that could kill me. I've been trying my best to lose the weight and be healthy. Shame • There is still so much stigmatization with weight loss surgery. People assume it’s the easy way out, which I understand but it couldn’t be further from the truth. VSG, Bypass, Lapband, whatever your method, is a tool. A tool doesn’t lose the weight for you, it helps you. You have to make a choice every day to eat right, to make sure your nutrition is balanced, to move closer to your goal and not regain. You have to make every decision, not your surgery. There is an incredible amount of thought that goes into each choice. When people question your choice in doing surgery, kindly remind them: I do all the work. I decide what I eat and if I work out. I decide if I lose weight. This tool just reminds me not to overdo it. • Does anyone see a photo of them and literally not recognize themselves? • Sometimes I shock myself at how unaware I was of my size. standard meal prep sunday post, I didn’t need to do a huge prep tonight partly because I still have lots of meals in the freezer from my last cook up, but I wanted some variety & i’m going away next weekend so I won’t get time to do it for next weekend, so now i’m prepped for the next fortnight - apart from fresh fruit. I really wanted something simple and easy, i’m not a huge sauce from a jar person but it’ll do 🤷🏼‍♀️ I like to bulk the meals out with veggies - such as the butter chicken has sweet potato, zucchini and carrot, and I’ll add a bag of steamed veggies to the honey mustard chicken, I’ll serve them on rice (cauliflower or brown) or I’ll add a steamed bag of veg to the curry 🤩. I also made some zucchini muffins which are good for a quick breakfast or a snack, I made two batches so they’ll go a long way. Feeling slightly more in control of my food choices, all of the above which I have tracked in mfp! 👏🏻 beingbetterbeth
