Slow cooked BBQ jackfruit and homemade chips😋🌱 I used a large red onion, large yellow pepper, large red pepper, 2 tins yellowsticker (dented tin) jackfruit, garlic, passata, apple cider vinegar, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, Tabasco, bay leaves and BBQ sauce and cooked for 6hrs on low. If my 🕺bf doesn't meat me halfway, am thinking of dumpling him. Don't you think it's my pierogi-tive? When a new restaurant gets a Florence Fabricant mention in the New York 🗞Times, I've always taken it as a cue to avoid said eatery until the hype dies down. But with this spot, I couldn't resist dropping by during opening week. Am blaming it on the lure of boiled, caramelized onion-laden 🇵🇱Polish dumplings, aka pierogies. Anyway, even though I suck at describing aesthetics, the space here is worthy of my, at least, trying. I was 🤗happily surprised by how airy and light it felt. And contemporary. I was also charmed when my food crawl partner-in-crime and I were plied with shots of 🍒cherry vodka while waiting for our table. The wait, on a Saturday afternoon, wasn't too bad for just us two, but I think larger parties put in some time. Tried a combo of three spinach pierogies and three meat. The former was especially interesting in that the filling tasted 💨smoky. If I were still a vegetarian, I'd have been wondering if some sort of pork fat had been added. Both kinds were stuffed generously and their doughy wrappers were a 🥰delight. The pierogies are apparently handmade in-house and it shows. Borscht with mini pierogies featured tiny tortellini-like 🥟🥟dumplings floating in a clear beet broth. I grew up on cold borscht, made with pureed beets, and tbh, imagined there would be some shredded beets in the 🥣soup. When I added some of the garlicky sour cream that accompanied this to each spoonful, it worked wonders to amp up the flavor, but am not sure I'd order this again. To my 🤔understanding, there's an OG location of this restaurant back in Poland. This oupost's proprietors opened with the intent of trying to keep a light shining on the Polish roots that have helped define this Greenpoint neighborhood for so long. Mixed feelings about the borscht aside, I think they're well on their way.❤ ❤ ❤

👩🍳 Martes de WonderFood 🍲 🌎 En el sur de Chile 🇨🇱 en invierno es costumbre hacer y comer buñuelos rápidos mientras se espera el pan. Estos buñuelos de manzana son perfectos para acompañar una linda tarde de té, café o mate con amigos o familiares. Pueden servirse fríos o tibios, espolvoreados solamente con azúcar o azúcar y canela. ¡Son súper sabrosos! Sigue leyendo para aprender a hacerlos y sorprender a todos. Ingredientes · 125g de harina 0000. Ver clasificación de harinas por ceros · 3 cucharadas de azúcar · 8g de levadura seca o polvo para hornear · 80c.c. de leche · 1 manzana · ½ limón · Canela en polvo · Aceite de oliva o de girasol Elaboración paso a paso Vuelca la harina, la levadura seca o el polvo para hornear y el azúcar en un recipiente, y mezcla muy bien todos los ingredientes. Ralla la cáscara del medio limón y agrégala a la mezcla. Usa el medio limón restante y exprímelo para extraer el zumo. Añádelo a la mezcla anterior y continúa mezclando. Pela la manzana, retira el corazón y córtala en pedazos pequeños. Incorpora la manzana cortada y mezcla muy bien hasta que se forme una masa uniforme. Tapa el recipiente con papel film y deja descansar la masa durante 60 minutos. Transcurridos los 60 minutos, calienta una sartén con abundante aceite de oliva y cuando esté caliente, echa no más de cuatro cucharadas de mezcla para dejar freír los buñuelos de manzana a fuego medio. Una vez que se agrandan, dalos vuelta y deja dorar por completo. Una vez que están fritos los buñuelos, retíralos de la sartén con ayuda de una espumadera y escúrrelos en un plato con papel absorbente para retirar el aceite excedente. Afghan Eggs Burrito / A tasty weekend breakfast based on the traditional Afghan eggs recipe. A hint of heat from the chilli really makes this burrito! You could even go so far as making your own flatbreads, however I opted for the cheats way and bought some. Next time! . Serves 2 Ingredients: Tbsp olive oil 2 flatbreads Half an onion, diced 1 chilli, sliced 2 medium tomatoes, diced 6 eggs . Method: 1. Heat tbsp oil in a frying pan and fry onions until almost brown. 2. Add chilli and fry for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and fry until soft. 3. Add eggs and mix until scrambled. 4. Cette recette bien méditerranéenne comporte quelques techniques dont les origines remontent au moins à l’Empire romain. En effet, si les rougets au four sont plutôt communs, la base de ce plat peut être comparée au pissalat, qui sert de garniture à la pissaladière niçoise. Cette pâte très ancienne consistait autrefois à faire macérer dans des amphores des poissons tels que les anchois ou les sardines avec des herbes aromatiques. La pâte obtenue était ensuite filtrée pour obtenir une sauce épaisse et forte en goût, un exhausteur de goût puissant. Cette préparation était très courante à l’époque de l’Empire Romain sous le nom de garum. Un ancêtre encore plus lointain est daté de l’empire mésopotamien, le siqqu. De nos jours, ces garums ont majoritairement disparus et ont été remplacées par des sauces plus simples à réaliser comme la pâte d’anchois présentée aujourd’hui. Il en existe cependant des cousins lointains tels que la sauce nuoc-mâm vietnamienne ou le Guedj sénégalais. Ingrédients - 6 rougets vidés et écaillés - 6 filets d’anchois dessalés - 2 gousses d’ail - 1 càs d’huile d’olive - ½ bouquet de persil ciselé - 50 g de chapelure - Sel et poivre Préparation 1. Piler les anchois avec l’ail et l’huile d’olive de manière à obtenir une pâte. Saler et poivrer. 2. Etaler la pâte d’anchois sur la surface d’un plat à gratin, puis y déposer les rougets. Saler, poivrer et verser la chapelure de manière homogène. 3. Cuire à 210°C pendant 15 minutes. 4.
